"How can La Liga allow them to spend the money they don’t have to complete these transfers"

is the cry from fans.

doesnt make sense to me , why is ok for one team to spend others money and not others?

You have no idea how liquidity works and also don't understand that different leagues have different rules. Discussion over

OP, I’m just gonna get a deck chair and some popcorn and sit down and enjoy you being schooled by people who understand money.

This will be more entertaining than that great friendly series, the Ashes.

You have had myriad chartered accountants and financial experts tell you the difference, and yet you persist with the same, baseless arguments?

Also, your quoted figures are incorrect. Here as the latest set of accounts - go have a look for yourself and come back when you have questions

still no takers on the question being asked?

Do Man Utd fans not see the irony in complaining about clubs in debt spending money on players.

The whole salary thing rankles. Its the main reason why players choose to join them, even though they can't actually register them yet without getting rid of players they don't want. Players who they also coaxed to them with massive salary offers in the first place

Do United owe their current players tens of millions of pounds?

Are they in serious breach of PL financial rules?

Are they signing players for huge sums while unable to register them due to those rules?

I have literally given no opinion all I did was ask if certain poster couldnt see the irony in complaining about a team in debt spending money on players. It seemed to hit a nerve? no idea why?

OP, why are you foaming at the chops about United all the time?

does any of that matter? thats not the point im raising thats different feel free to create a thread on that if you want.

IM asking can you not see the irony of a club who have large levels of debt complaining about a team with large levels of debt buying players?

posted on 15/7/22

One club has silly debt but their revenues cover it. Players on silly contracts still.

Other club has silly debt but they are selling future revenue streams to buy additional.players. can't register players due to them being massively over the wage cap.
Players still on silly contracts. Club makes players differ silly contracts so new players coming in can have silly contracts. Still can't register players due to the wage cap. Decide best course of action is to sign more players on silly contracts.

How are they the same OP?

I think the real irony is you using the word irony incorrectly. Kinda like an irony inception.

Are you actually sure? The club's financial period end is 30 June; companies (particularly, PLCs) are required to have their accounts audited before publication so, y'know, they don't just print "we make 100 billion pounds a week..."

Those audits take MONTHS, and that's on the assumption of timely and accurate source information from the internal finance and accounting functions at United.

All in all, you won't see the FY22 accounts before September. So, if you're telling me that you're an auditor at PwC (you're not, you wouldn't have made it through the first exam) AND you're on the United audit AND MUFC's internal teams somehow pulled together all the requisite information FIFTEEN DAYS AFTER THE PERIOD END I will LITERALLY eat my nuts, film it, put it on YouTube, throw up the contents and paint "I'm sorry I doubted you, whodunnit" on the camera lens

Man has mortgage and keeps his payments up and has no defaulted debts and goes and buys a huge TV and everyone is happy.

Man has mortgage and can’t keep up the repayments nor his credit card debts nor his council tax and still goes and buys large TV. Not everyone is happy.

Thus concludes Robb’s economics lesson.
