I see there is a new guy, who’s clearly not a new guy posting again. And folk wonder what’s killing the site?
Anyway-we are a pot 4 team and are in 4th place. We’ve had some decent performances, but overall it’s not been enough. We could have done better, but we haven’t so far.

4th was not a certainty, 2nd was in play for you. 3rd for us but we have both been schite.
I still refuse to believe we can't beat the lesser CL sides like RB Leipzig, Shakhtar etc we just need to be at the top of our game and neither team has been close.

fair enough then, kind of doesn't help my argument Although i though Rangers did incrediably well last year, i don't think you can compare a team playing in the CL to EL. Clubs would never consider putting out weaker teams in the CL over league matches. But I think they would for EL, even in the latter stages. The intensity or importance of the games aren't there! It's just my opinion

Leipzig didn't put out a weakened team though. They just wilted at Ibrox in the atmosphere, which looked like might happen when they schat it before kick off last night and probably would have if you scored.

I wouldn't disagree at the moment because we are a long way off last seasons highs but if we hit form then we would have a good chance especially having a striker fit this time round. We could and so could you have if you finished a chance.

It's a load of $hite, spouted by our own manager on a few occassions, for which he was rightly put down...and it's now being spouted by Celtic fans purely because you've been papped out after losing at home twice and not winning an away game that you really should have

The argument that Rangers and Celtic 'are not capable of competing' is the one I feel is total slavering nonsense.
If you had applied that logic then Rangers were clearly not capable of competing in the knock out stages of the Europa League last season. Oh wait....
Yes we will be underdogs in most if not all games. Yes we might need to have a good night while they have an off night to collect points. But absolutely - of course we can and should be competing.
We wont be successful if we adopt Gios defeatist mindset of course. Anges gung-ho approach obviously has its down side as well. These are choices the managers are making though.
For me success would be finishing third in the groups and dropping into the Europa. That would represent an (over) achievement with a good reward at the end of it.
To say neither Rangers nor Celtic are even capable of competing for that third place just because we are seeded fourth is just bonkers.
The history of football is littered with examples of teams that have massively over-achieved. Are you seriously saying neither OF is really capable of destroying all expectations and finishing third in the group rather than fourth?
What a monumental shock to the football world that would represent!!
Celtic should try starting with 11 men and leaving the baldy duracell bunny at home.

It’s quite simple; the noses are out of joint because they got humped by a team we humped six months ago without a recognised striker and who they all said were a pash team! If they could just concentrate on their own team instead of our team then we wouldn’t have the need for this inquest

It's a load of $hite, spouted by our own manager on a few occassions, for which he was rightly put down...and it's now being spouted by Celtic fans purely because you've been papped out after losing at home twice and not winning an away game that you really should have

The argument that Rangers and Celtic 'are not capable of competing' is the one I feel is total slavering nonsense.
If you had applied that logic then Rangers were clearly not capable of competing in the knock out stages of the Europa League last season. Oh wait....
Yes we will be underdogs in most if not all games. Yes we might need to have a good night while they have an off night to collect points. But absolutely - of course we can and should be competing.
We wont be successful if we adopt Gios defeatist mindset of course. Anges gung-ho approach obviously has its down side as well. These are choices the managers are making though.
For me success would be finishing third in the groups and dropping into the Europa. That would represent an (over) achievement with a good reward at the end of it.
To say neither Rangers nor Celtic are even capable of competing for that third place just because we are seeded fourth is just bonkers.
The history of football is littered with examples of teams that have massively over-achieved. Are you seriously saying neither OF is really capable of destroying all expectations and finishing third in the group rather than fourth?
What a monumental shock to the football world that would represent!!
