The club would’ve sacked him already if they were going to sack him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really. They were always going to wait for the outcome of criminal proceedings.

I'm saying he would win it

.............

Don't be so daft.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He denied all charges and they are dropping the case. I think he'd have a very good case whether you like it or not. That's how the law works. You can't be convicted over twitter.

But like I said I think there will be an alternative path taken anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is not good reasoning as to why he would win an appeal. What part of the word disrepute don’t you understand?

Why, if they were going to terminate his deal no matter the outcome?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly. If anything, this outcome makes it easier to keep him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The sensible thing would be to bin him. There’s obviously going to be a backlash. It will look pretty bad if we keep him, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they try.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The Glazers aren't bothered about looking bad.

Looks like my return to attending games could be short-lived depending on how the club handle this.

You won’t be the only one, TRS.

I hope we’ll see the likes of MUST, MUWSC and other supporters’ groups making strong statements.

Se85 would plead for hitler to be let off as long as he was banging in goals for Utd.

Potential Owners or Investors ( I still believe the latter is the case with regards to the sale of the club) will be interested in what direction the club chooses to take here.

Do you think there are certain owners that wouldnt care?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Because it’s not worth the risk whilst legal proceedings are ongoing.

The most likely next step is you tell him you want to terminate, pay him a sum but don’t publicly say anything about that at all and both sides move on.

Very true. He's still listed as a squad player for the u21's, what do you think United will do next? If we abide by the saying of ''innocent until proven guilty'' then it's a tough one for United. I gather rather than ripping up his contract United will simply look to sell him

posted on 2/2/23

What risk?

Innocent - terminate his contract

Case dropped - terminate his contract

Guilty- terminate his contract

Luis Suarez was found guilty of racism and biting two footballers on the pitch which is basically GBH in the street for the common man. He wasn't sacked either.

Greenwood's contract could be terminated mutually for sure but I don't think there's a cat in hells chance they will sack him now the charges are dropped.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Publicly, it’ll be a mutual termination if they do decide to sack him. Most of the time it isn’t really that though!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's different. That would be with his consent and no comeback. I agree too

There’s more than enough in the public sphere for ‘innocent until proven guilty’ to be redundant regarding his future employment. I’ll be surprised if we don’t terminate his contract, be that mutual or otherwise.

Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped.

The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete.

“Innocent until proven guilty” literally means “innocent of any given criminal offence in the eyes of the legal system until proven guilty of said offence in a court of law”.

It doesn’t mean innocent in each and every sense of the word, and the club, like anyone else, has value judgments to make.

I don’t think City would touch him with a barge pole if United released him.

It’d (at the very least) look absolutely terrible.

Yep. I know that, of course. People that bring that up generally don’t understand that difference, however.

Same as what City said re Mendy I think.

Firstly, that girls father should be ashamed of himself. If you read some of the things he said after this happened, it was quite clear from then this case was going to lead to nothing. Putting money over his daughter.

As for this fella, tough decision for the club but we have no leg to stand on regards him playing again. After seeing that video it goes without saying he has to go, but for all we know what if he goes to the club now with a statement from her confirming that was se* play. What do you do then???

That doesn't matter.

It is of you are blaming him for it.

No it doesn't.
