The trains in the UK are completely fecked, horrendously expensive and barely functioning because of the Tories. Blame them.
ASLEF members haven’t had a pay increase for four years and have now been offered 4%.
Compound inflation over that same period is 19.5%.
The maths is pretty simple: they are being asked to take an absolutely massive, massive real terms pay cut.
Add to that the fact that the proposal would see their working conditions further eroded. (And they’ve said all along that their concerns are about protecting those conditions as much as they are their pay.)
I know what I’d do in their circumstances.
Of all the people who require a salary increase, train drivers who average £59k are not high on the agenda.
----------------
Why not? they have the safety of 1000s of people in their hands on a daily basis.
Trains tickets cost a lot of money... I want that money going into the right pockets.
Working class people in jobs with exacting requirements in skills and training should have lower pay and happily accept real-terms pay cuts, according to the OP.
Personally, I believe there's a swathe of occupations that shouldn't be paid less than half what train drivers get, but this is the net result of decades of 'let the market decide' economic policy, which Busby (though let's be clear, he's no Tory!) advocates.
shouldn't be a problem for united fans given half of them are from london.
will be good for Man City to have an excuse for not fulfilling their allocation.
You're such a miserable c-ck Busby. But definitely not a Tory, not sure why people keep saying this?!

Work of genius this. Certainly didn't see that coming.
More worried about city running train on us
And train drivers probably should get a pay rise. Fat cat council bosses on 100k and university deans on the other hand can fack off
And Busby wonders why he’s called a snivelling Tory cuuuunt
Deliberately targeting public events is going to annoy the public even more.

Yeah, it's almost as if strike action which has an actual impact on things is a completely ludicrous idea.
Moaning about drivers who earn in a year the same as an average player in the pl gets in a week
Get a grip deserve everything they get
I work on the railway and it is very stressful at times and I ain’t a driver

not so sure how you can quanitfy that, Id argue that the bus driver has loads of other lives at stake that are not on his bus also that dont apply to train drivers. a vehicle and journey that has far more variables than train journey.
and simlarly why to train conductors get paid much more than bus drivers?
Bus drivers earn about 23-26k a year conductors earn about 35k.
You go drive a train at 100 mph with no where to go if something happens
Then got drive a bus at 50mph
The FA should hold it at Goodison Park
