He would be mental to turn down the opportunity, even though Spurs will likely ruin him like every other manager that goes there.

As ever, this is probably he is trying to get a new contract and using his agent to drum up some rumours about him being linked....Watch this space, Celtic will be giving him a new contract...

Same a Slot - negotiated himself a nice little pay increase and a new contract

Be mental to take up the challenge, poisoned chalice. I’d flat out turn it down if I was him

Utd was the poison chalice and yet ETH took a gamble and he is doing well?

Did you forgot in what state was Utd before ETH took over?

It just takes a very good manager to turn around any club, even Chelsea where millions are being wasted.

Football is what you make it. If you don't make it, it will break you - through negative press and fans.

Comparing United, arguably the biggest club in the world, one of the most successful clubs in Europe, one of the largest budgets in Europe, regular trophy winners and Champions League competitors to…

Tottenham Hotspur who have not won a trophy for the best part of 2 decades, no league title in 60+ years, are currently scrapping with Villa and Brentford for Europa Conference qualification and have Daniel Levy overseeing all of it.

Fair point.

Except that United have only been regular winners under Busby and Ferguson. Outside that, only a few trophies scattered around.

Would be very surprised if he didn't want to be involved in CL next season and he also hadn't quite finished what he is trying to achieve st Celtic. Doesn't strike me as the kind of person to give up on something he hasn't quite achieved yet. Definitely think next season will be his last though.

I would suspect if offered he will go

He Seems the ambitious type

Woukd probably be a good fit at spurs though they may want a bigger name

I think he would do a good job with them as he has with Celtic

He would jump at the chance to join Spurs, not that I am sure I would want him, the PL is a way higher level than any other job he has had.

Cheers for the input.

I don't think he'd go because Spurs fans and board are too impatient and wouldn't give him.the time to implement his style. He'd be sacked within 8 weeks.

Having a big stadium doesn't make Spurs a big club. Spurs just put themselves in the conversation like a wee guy pretending he is mates with the cool.kids

Man Utd
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Man City

All with years of success and trophies.

Spurs
Bottled the easiest league title in history to Leicester

Big Stadium
Not a big club

Said in another thread I think he'll go if offered the job because that's just the way these things tend to go now, but it would be madness to go from Celtic to a club like Spurs. It's a club for journeymen managers who just want another big payoff on the merry-go-round, not for anyone who wants to win trophies or build any sort of legacy.

posted on 28/5/23

Spurs are a pretty big club in a very big league. But my guess is he'll still be at Celtic next season.
