Sounded on commentary like forest had the better of the first half chances but stats seem to suggest it's as even as the scoreline.

We're out of the drop zone, for the moment.

We’re nailed on to be bottom six.

Just got to hope we’ve got enough to get 15th or 16th

I think we got what most of us were asking for - RAN playing higher up the pitch. Regardless he had a very mediocre game.

So it was a back four in the end? Or a bit of a hybrid set up?

Gets in good positions in the final third and makes the wrong choices.

Out all day with no phone reception so unusually for me didn’t follow the game at all today, just catching up. Great goal by Bellegarde, didn’t think he’d be in the team today, good job he was. Never been a fan of Chris Wood but he’s always a menace against Wolves.

Still not sure GON has got the set up right this season yet. Seemed to be like a 4411 today but don’t think that’s the way to get the best from Larsen or Cunha. With the players we have then it’s either 343 or 4231 for me. But still not clear where they’ll play Andre who is probably too good to not be in the team at all.

I’m sure the fortnight break will be a key time for GON and the players to sort out what set up works best with the players we now have. Although the players we have could change again very soon with Sa and Podence probably Saudi bound and Sarabia wanted in Saudi and Turkey

Sounds like Jose Sa has had some personal issues to deal with this week and he’s been back to Portugal so that explains his absence today and the suggestions are that he’ll be staying to fight for his place

I take it you're referring to O'Neil's post match comments on Sa. I didn't interpret what he said in quite the same way. He said that Sa had had an unsettling week, which I read as he's been unhappy that we've brought in competition for his place. He didn't say he's been back to Portugal, he said he'd heading back there now as it's internationals next week.

Not sure what the format was today, apart from a back four. The defence looked more solid now that Dawson is back and Toti looked more comfortable in the LB role. Midfield did very well with Lemina the stand out and a great goal from Bellegarde, which was the first goal scored outside the box in 47 matches. RAN had a good first half but faded in the second. Sloppy goal again allowing Woods far too much space from that corner.

My man of the match was Dawson and I hope he can stay fit. I think I'd have preferred Rodrigo to Hwang who I thought was ineffective apart from one decent pass shortly after he came on.

Overall, not a bad performance and with players away on International duty (Sa, Semedo, Joao Gomes, Andre and Mosquera to name a few), GON has to make the best of the rest on the training ground before our next match.

3 teams below us in the league now. Champions League beckons

That Wood goal was almost identical to the Jackson one last week, definitely some work to do there. Allowing the centre forward a free header at the back post at a corner is neglecting the basics.

Far post to corners and crosses has been a problem from last season
It's basic to have someone covering that area.
Why does Hwang always get on the pitch he's hopeless.

Looks like for dead balls we are focusing on zonal marking the six yard box and don’t pick up players coming in at the back. Not good considering we just employed a dead ball coach

Seemed that both teams should have conceded a penalty for handball

Can’t underestimate the importance of the point yesterday.👍

It’s two months until we meet one of our rivals in the bottom six. Would be nice to pick up another point or two before then though.

It was mentioned previously on here that the Man Cheaty match in October might change to a Saturday kick off if they had a CL match?

Can anyone confirm this?

Bruno Lage had a successful time as manager of Benfica before joining Wolves. He was pretty hopeless for us before going to Botafego in Brazil and doing even worse. He is now on the point of being reappointed as Benfica boss

I mentioned the fact that we now appear to have zonal marking for corners after our first match against Arsenal. It might be the fact that we now have a set piece coach, not just for attacking, but also for defending. Never like it before and still don't.

After conceding 9 from 3, I would suggest that something is not working?

Don't take this as definitive confirmation but their CL game against Sprata Prague is currently scheduled for Wednesday 23rd, our game still listed as Sunday 4.30.

If it's zonal marking that we are employing its an odd zonal malling system that sees everyone packing the six yard box and ignoring the zone (big zone) at the far corner of the 6y box.

Think it was mentioned by Spangles that if the Cheaties are playing CL midweek, then our match would be moved back to Saturday?

Time will tell on that one.

👍
