What I said was that if their champions league game was scheduled for Tuesday then our game would be moved back to Saturday. As their game is now confirmed for Wednesday then our game will be on the Sunday

If it's zonal marking that we are employing its an odd zonal malling system that sees everyone packing the six yard box and ignoring the zone (big zone) at the far corner of the 6y box.

Whatever the plan was for defending corners then to leave their centre forward, and main danger man from dead ball situations unmarked, can’t be anything but poor defending. Question is whether the players screwed up or whether our dead ball coach ain’t up to the job

Blimey, we have a Wolves player in Troy Deeney's Team of the Week for the BBC. Bellegarde had a good game I suppose.

Bellegarde's goal was in match of the days goal of the month shortlist too.

Al Shabab, sounds like one of those fantastic 3am places you fall in to after a club that serve you the finest burgers and kebabs, but is also the destination for little Daniel Podence.

He's posted a farewell on Instagram... to olympiakos and their fans. Little sh1tbag .

Wolves will pocket £5m from the Podence sale. He was entering the last year of his Wolves contract.

The deal Sa was hoping to get in Saudi has fallen through so unless anything changes on Monday he will be staying with Wolves

Just read that farewell message from Podence. Pretty disgraceful to talk so gushingly about Olympiakos and their fans but not one mention of Wolves. Good riddance

Wolves u21s travel to Port Vale tonight in their first fixture of the season in the EFL Trophy, this year called the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.

Be interesting to see if any of our new signings are given some match time in this, particularly as there’s no first team game the coming weekend.

Maybe starts for Sutherland, Lochead, Forbs, Rodrigo Gomes

With Podence now gone for 5m euros, the club are in the black to the tune of 38.10m euros. If Sa goes then we'll have a few euros more. Plus we're down to 17 senior foreign players. Luvvly Jubbly.

Anyone remember those frozen triangular ice drinks?

It’s a very young Wolves u21 team playing at Port Vale tonight with a few u18s in there. But they lead 1-0 at the break. Tom Edozie the scorer, who had been their best player alongside Ashworth in midfield

Finished 2-2 at the Vale, Vale getting a bonus point for winning the penalty shoot out.

Podence found it within him to post a thank you to Wolves and their fans as well. Too late though for the many on social media that had already condemned him for not thanking them first ❄️❄️❄️

Must admit, as frustrating as he could be at times he was one of the most gifted players I've seen at the club. If he's been able to channel his talent properly he'd never have played for us, he'd have been a superstar. Too many touches, too many tricks that didn't come off, sometimes less is more. What I did like about him was his willingness to do something different, I often thought that if he was playing alongside someone that was as quick as him and on the same wavelength he'd have been devastating. Sadly he played most of his football for us alongside a recovering Raul and Diego Costa who both stood around watching him play dangerous balls in the penalty box that they were supposed to be on the end of.

Never quite felt the same enthusiasm for Podence although no question he was talented. Similar kind of player to Jota but to me nowhere near as good. And I’m no fan of players that dive and roll around pretending to be injured. Would have liked to have kept him in the squad but I don’t think he’d have been a first team regular if he’d stayed

Watched some of that game against Port Vale on sky sports +. It was literally men against boys with experienced Vale players managed by former Albion boss Darren Moore, against a very young Wolves team. But we were close to winning it with a tremendous goal from 30 yards by Holman 5 minutes from the end. But we couldn’t hold on and we missed two pens in the shoot out and they only missed one.

Don’t understand why we sign players for the future like Lochead, Sutherland and Meupiyou and don’t play them in games like this

The date for the next round of the carabao cup at Brighton has now been fixed for 19:45 on Wednesday 18th September. It will be shown on Sky Sports+

We probably didn't play them because they've only just arrived at the club. No pre season games and Lochhead is only 16. I've also read that Meupiyou is carrying an injury.

I'd rather they give Rodrigo and Lima game time, even though they're part of the first team squad.

Has there been another ex Wolves player nominated? Can’t think of one off hand.

Evidently a certain Mr Billy Wright was Runner up in the 1957 Ballon d’Or award missing out on it to Real Madrid’s Alfredo Di Stéfano.
