Can we all just agree that the Tories are truly awful and should never be allowed to govern again (unsure if they were awful pre Thatcher as well but I think we have a large enough sample size regardless).
And
That Starmers Labour are well on their way to failing miserably.

Nope, I don't think this executive is failing.
It's made a few PR fk ups but it's far from failing...imo.

Fair enough
How do you think they've done vs your expectations just prior to them taking office?

I didn't have any tbh, I agree with some on here, in that I just wanted the Tories out. I do expect things to improve over the course of their 5 year term and will be the first to abuse them if they're not. I think its silly to judge after 9 months and to let the vested interest media to dictate a national narrative of Britain in decline to promote a more extreme right wing version of the Tories who only seem to care about culture wars.

"In polling conducted this week by Redfield & Wilton Strategies, we find the Prime Minister’s approval rating is now tied with his lowest net approval rating as Opposition Leader, recorded in the autumn of 2021. "
"The public further gives the Government negative net approval ratings on every major policy issue prompted, and a majority view the Government as incompetent. Moreover, we find that Nigel Farage and Reform UK loom as a serious threat."

"The NHS in England is planning "previously unthinkable" cuts to try to balance the books, health bosses say.
Services including diabetes care for young people, rehab centres and talking therapies are in the firing line, according to NHS Providers, which represents health managers.
Staff, including doctors and nurses, also face the axe - and some NHS trusts are stopping overtime for doctors, putting the drive to cut the hospital waiting lists at risk."
Apparently all a concerted effort by the media to make out the Country is in decline lapped up by the brainwashed masses

Did you have any thoughts about the article?
This bit was spot on I thought
"Delivering on this is where the government has a chance to rebuild trust. It must consider systemic solutions. The asylum housing challenge cannot be separated from the wider temporary housing challenge that has led to a number of councils teetering on the edge of the financial precipice. It needs rapid, whole-system reform."
Again, an opportunity to rebuild trust which hasn't been thought through properly.
This is pretty much the crux of the matter, and why most people have lost trust in Labour:
"Not only will tough-sounding policies, headlines and slogans erode public trust when they fail to produce results, they will also have the effect of dangerously ramping up the temperature on the asylum debate. Less than a year since towns up and down the country were shocked by violence on the streets targeting refugees, we need responsible and sensible leadership, not the populist playbook."
Agree with every word of that, the Rwanda policy showed the British people don't like populist, expensive gimmicks and why Reform needs to be confronted on their policies.
Hence why this Labour Government is currently being confronted and it's not some kind of conspiracy. The article pertains to them using the same populist playbook that reform are using. Most people can see through what they're doing.
"An immigration white paper expected on Monday will signal a further hardening of policy towards those seeking asylum.
What do all these policies have in common? They are kneejerk initiatives that will make no difference to whether or not people come to the UK seeking sanctuary."
Btw, Sir Keir Starmer is still one enormous cuuunt.
Not sure there's a palatable way that can appease the native population let alone solve the issue, when it comes to people entering the country illegally.
A very hard line approach is the only thing that can work but most people would be against it. Be welcoming and more and more people will rosk their lives to come and the reality is there's a limit to how many people can be successfully integrated.
In Australia both sides of the political fence aren't going to stop the policy of offshore detention centres despite overwhelming evidence of mistreatment at them.
The only way you're going to have a result the vast majority support is for people to be safe/happy enough not to attempt to leave their own country.
