Well, results AND performances. Yeah we've had some good wins where we score a lot of goals, but we've had a good number of losses where we've been comprehensively out-attacked and have looked abject throughout.
At the start of the season our losses at least came with evidence that we had played well. You don't see that as much anymore. Perhaps like last season, it's the manager getting found out by the rest of the league again as the campaign goes on, and the injuries have only helped to disguise it?

quotes Ange came out with about not signing a defender cause we have Udogie, Davies, VDV and Romero to come back does really worry me and with that attitude to signing players he wont last much longer
VDV and Romero our starting two CBs wont even give you 30 league games a season, also both not as good as a lot think imo although great players in their own right, Davies is getting on, reliable but not good enough, Udogie has been poor recently and easily up-gradable too
we have quite a lot of forwards and we seem to be prioritising a forward with it likely none of our current forwards will leave and we wont be able to get someone to really significantly improve the team this month
lots has been spent under Ange but that is more to the mess he inherited, however we were 3 or 4 first team players short in the summer, kicking the can down the road with Werner staying and relying on fewer than 2 players for each position across the defence when you have european football
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I like VDV I’d take him at Liverpool. Have to be honest I think Romero is massively overrated although I concede ye watch far more of spurs than me
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i probably haven't this season mate
agree with you on both players. VdV problem is fitness with his style, also not the best box defender/in the air.
you well?

Just hoping this season could be successful. Being honest don’t care if we fail at next hurdle in CL, FA and league cup if it means winning the prem

I’ve written off the league this season which gives me peace about some of the results, That said he does need to start getting results in the league to avoid being drawn into a relegation battle - starting with Everton.
I’m hoping we look back on this time as the time we nearly sacked one of Spurs most successful managers in the modern era.

That first line is the part I'm interested in. What gives you the impression he's building something good when we sit in an unprecedented low position with I think an end of season points projection of 43, our lowest ever?

His record at Celtic was mixed, yeah they dominated an absolutely shiete league, but they couldn’t cut the mustard in Europe. The truth is Celtic only need to be at 60% to beat all but Rangers and Aberdeen in the SPL. Down here, other than Southampton, there is no absolute gimme.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Scheite league on 1% of the EPL TV money - go figure. Then go figure how you were unable to beat the second best team in that scheite league.
id agree Romero is pivotal on the ball for how we play but still overrated by spurs fans and isnt a great defender. but yeah hes probably equally under rated by other fans who just think hes rubbish or a liability
I'm with you on this one Fridge
Would like Ange to do well because his footballing ideals are good. Ideals are all well and good but they mean sheit all unless you can actually put it into practice. That's the bit that demonstrably isn't working and hasn't been for a year now.
Strongly doubt he's cut out for this level, but we'll see. Don't think there's much point changing the manager right now anyway.
Kinda hard to get all that worked up about it tbh
did we even play to his ideas yesterday?
first half by all accounts there was no aggression or intent to control the game on the ball

think its more the fact with his ideas to succeed you need the best players in the division for it to show. which isnt going to be the case at tottenham.
a one of European game where Rangers were clearly going to be very up for it against a struggling spurs team isnt much of a measure

in any case the fans having to basically right off the league and waste a season of their lives when paying the highest prices in the league is totally unforgivable and thats obviously on the higher ups, who at the end of the day cant be sacked. clearly also cannot see this themselves also, which is a recipe for disaster

How have Spurs fans written off the season? Spurs are still involved in three cup competitions. Unless you think finishing top four is what constitutes a modern season.

I will judge him at the end of this season.

Surely than the injury situation lies solely at his feet and it's his doing, the way he trains and the one way he expects his team to play???

I don't think it is just down to the way he trains. Bentancur for example being banned and then injured against Liverpool had zilch to do with anything Ange dies in training. Sometimes in life you just need some luck. Ange is getting none of that.

Nope, I'm 45 mate. I remember the Hoddle years. All I meant was that, although we were terrible under Ardiles, where we needed a win at Oldham to avoid relegation, we ended up with more points than 43, which is our projected tally for this year. Fully aware of how gash we were through those barren years.
im still behind the manager but its not all on the cups, i havent been convinced we are good enough to win a cup competition just cause we are still in them, the league form has to pick up even if there continues to be disruptions
truthfully just wish the season would end and we can start the next one with everyone fit, 3 or 4 first team players signed that make an impact and a new medical team lol

----------------------------------------------------------------------
think its more the fact with his ideas to succeed you need the best players in the division for it to show. which isnt going to be the case at tottenham.
a one of European game where Rangers were clearly going to be very up for it against a struggling spurs team isnt much of a measure

quotes Ange came out with about not signing a defender cause we have Udogie, Davies, VDV and Romero to come back does really worry me and with that attitude to signing players he wont last much longer
Have to be honest I think Romero is massively overrated although I concede ye watch far more of spurs than me
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Romero is massively underrated in my opinion. Watch his game on the ball and then judge. The guy makes a huge difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Romero is class, his problem this season is he doesn’t want to be here, he wants to be at Real Madrid. I expect him to go in the summer

It’s a shiete league as it doesn’t have money to attract better players and we were unable to beat the second best team in that league because we are shiete ourselves. We’re on the same wave length here

I’m Ange in and feel like he is building something good.
I’ve written off the league this season which gives me peace about some of the results, That said he does need to start getting results in the league to avoid being drawn into a relegation battle - starting with Everton.
I’m hoping we look back on this time as the time we nearly sacked one of Spurs most successful managers in the modern era.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That first line is the part I'm interested in. What gives you the impression he's building something good when we sit in an unprecedented low position with I think an end of season points projection of 43, our lowest ever?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You must be quite young Fridge as we were very much a mid-table team during the whole of the 90's
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs were bottom of the table when I started supporting Spurs on the 1950s.

in any case the fans having to basically right off the league and waste a season of their lives when paying the highest prices in the league is totally unforgivable and thats obviously on the higher ups, who at the end of the day cant be sacked. clearly also cannot see this themselves also, which is a recipe for disaster
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How have Spurs fans written off the season? Spurs are still involved in three cup competitions. Unless you think finishing top four is what constitutes a modern season.

I have always said Ange should be judged when he has a near on fully fit squad for a number of months. That hasn't happened since the first 10 matches of last season.
I will judge him at the end of this season.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely than the injury situation lies solely at his feet and it's his doing, the way he trains and the one way he expects his team to play???

I don't think it is just down to the way he trains. Bentancur for example being banned and then injured against Liverpool had zilch to do with anything Ange dies in training. Sometimes in life you just need some luck. Ange is getting none of that.

"Ange dies in training" that did make me chuckle and seems quite apt.

Its just my pet peeve but is there any chance Ange could look up from the floor in a post match presser.... He almost looks ashamed to be there.... Its embarrassing... surely we have someone to do some bloody media training.... He looks like a naughty school kid

sorry was no need to be rude there
my point was that the league season is 38 games long, 19 home games and fans have to endure the majority of games being really bad paying a fortune
