What kind of "big club" goes into a season following a Euros summer where most of your squad were involved and some made it all the way to the final with 6 squad places empty?

posted on 22/2/25

I can only assume at this point that some of the Arsenal "fans" on this forum are some of the journalists or X accounts who cosy up to the club and cover up the failures.

Trying to set false narratives to pull the wool over the eyes of the majority and refuse to be honest with the reality.

Every flippin year, same time. Out of everything by Jan/Feb or March. We will get beaten by PSV in CL and yet another bottled season.

I find it amusing that people are worried about the Madrid teams we could potentially face.

We're not getting past PSV for that to even be worth worrying about, they are better than West Ham and will be really up for it, they'll be well aware of the s|-|it state we are in and therefore have all the belief they can beat us - and they can.

They can't be, they are out here excusing the club and the owners at every opportunity.

There are two main groups of people who do this:

#1 ToP GoOnErS running large X accounts - some of which are operated by the club and its world class PR & marketing department (the only world class aspect of Arsenal) - although it has absolutely no class, it's completely shameless.

#2 Journalists / podcasters who are already working with Arsenal football business or hope to one day. Maintaining or forging their sick i/\/bred relationships to get paid.

Didn't realise he's an alcoholic - that's sad to hear, I've witnessed a lot of alcoholism in parts of my family and it's not pretty. Definitely makes sense though.

He's been beyond nasty about me on this site on multiple occasions including spreading false rumours about me in the past but I ignored it and continued to be nice to him like I try to be to everyone - providing they don't lead with insults.

However, this was strike 3 (at least) so finally hit the filter.

Do many Arsenal fans think Arteta will get sacked? Can't see it myself but obvs you'll be more aware than me, you've had a superb City team, a team that would beat damn near all sides and now a Liverpool team that have had a great season, of course I can see how disappointed you might be getting so close but maybe it's just been bad luck and timing?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This Liverpool are not a great team at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally I think Liverpool have one of the best squads in Europe and then it’s down to how the manager uses that squad, especially when he hasn’t really had a chance to stamp his own outlook on it. He’s done a great job, for me slightly lacking in terms of giving the squad players more minutes but implementing a style where the first eleven can play more often without fatigue and injuries.

Arsenal have had the obvious problem for years and haven’t addressed it. Jesus was a decent signing but has never been a first choice and Havertz should never been the furthest man forward. Jesus has been unlucky with injuries but should never be the main man anyhow for a trophy winning team.

Therefore the question is was it Arteta’s decision to spend being money on those two to play as the central forward or not as they cost £100m odds between them so you can’t complain about backing to sort the position out. If so, then it falls on him.

Thisi is literally all I want to know. If that's true, then it's a joke. But I'm sure someone has been angry and inflated the price as a way to knock the club.

Brought my nine year old son to his first Liverpool game last season ant Anfield and had a Guinness out of a can and a really badly poured lager before that. My own drinks weren’t great either.

The bottom pouring pints are a gimmick. Quick and easy for the bar staff but all that happens is people push the "magnet" up from the bottom with their finger for a laugh and it spills your drink
