Interesting to note that the vast bulk of that $32m went to protecting and maintaining wetlands supporting migratory birds. And every grant from the US was matched by Canadian money as part of a scheme that also includes Mexico.

If football was this simple and things worked as they should we will all do the Pools and be millionaires.
I love Poch and wont be averse to see him returning. However, its folly to think as he was "successful" in his previous stint he will be able to replicate the same now or go even better.
The game has moved on and the EPL is much more competitive. The so called lesser teams scout really well and most are able to compete with the bigger teams.

A clamour on here for the next flavour of the month manager has failed to work in the past 6 years which tells me our issues lie much deeper!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The enforcement of PSR is also changing the game.

Teams are far less able to compile massive squads, stock piling talent.

This has opened up the market for other clubs to scout and purchase well.

I also think the game has an ever increasing physical element to it. Tippy tappy is being countered by physical athletic pacey opposition who can over power, who can go more direct, who have technical quality (not just Dyche style hoofball to the big man) and hurt even the best teams.

In the end of Poch's reign, we really struggled to break teams down. They sat back defended in numbers and limited our options. The same sorts of teams now also possess much more potent technical attacking options and teams like Forest typify this defensive organised quality matched with powerful attacking options. We seem to be seeing a lot more teams with 65% possession, struggling to make good chances and losing.

SO i think you are totally correct It is far more competitive now, and more than ever teams in the top 12-14 can give the bigger teams a serious game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Totally agree with you on this.

Chelsea finished below us in the league and Spurtle thinks he did a better job 😂. Clueless.

The Poch diciples are weird as funk.

As for Poch being interviewed a few hours before we play a big game and telling the world he is still begging for his old job back. Cringe as funk.

If I was an employer, I would stay well clear.

Over to you the Poch diciples to defend their lord.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They finished below us in 6th by 3 points so hardly anything. They also reached a cup final and a semi....how did we do in the cups again? Unlike us Poch finished the season strongly too, suggesting he had started to crack it. Been misery for us since the end of last season's collapse. So yeah, all in all a better job.

You really do have a funny way of pretending you don't hate Poch and aren't bitter about him going to Chelsea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He spent an absolute fortune to spend most of the season in the bottom half of the table. If Spurs sudden6pit in a good end of the season are you going to afford Ange the same generous praise you are giving Pochettino for having a mostly rubbish season with Chelsea.

Disrespectful to the country he's supposed to be prepping for the world cup as well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who cares.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Donald Trump cares. He might put a tarriff on him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you seen Canadian crowds recently booing the American national anthem? It’s great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So the US gives $250 billion trillion a year to Drake's people, and they boo in return? Nice
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s to simplistic. Just watch the oil prices in the US rise now they are being hit with sanctions from Canada.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair enough 👍🏻. I only have a passing interest in what is happening over there but it's fun to watch.

Don't get what 'sudden6pit' means but Poch didn't get the luxury of a second season at Chelsea to see how he would build on his first season. Ange has and you summed it up perfectly in your description of Poch's - spent a fortune to spend most of the season in the bottom half of the table.

Neither of their seasons were great but I just said I thought Poch did better because of the performances in the cups. He was at least close to picking up a trophy. He took a team that had finished 12th the season before, to 6th and ended in a more encouraging fashion. Ange only moved the club up 3 places and we finished pitifully.

Er, we’re 13th mate. That’s why you’re getting criticised. Just shut your feckin gob and focus on winning matches. Some people actually like him. I think he’s quite a loathesome character. I said that when we were winning so it’s not about results. I just don’t warm to people like Ange. I’d hate to work for him.

Could be...not yet. And this is in Ange's 2nd season. Poch did it in his first season, for both Chelsea and for us.

Well we beat Liverpool and then got hammered by them in the 2nd leg, just to show how far away we really were. The wins against City and United don't look so good in retrospect. Both teams are underperforming well below usual standards.

If Ange wins the Europa I will give him some praise. Ultimately we should be getting far in this competition with the squad we have, the lack of quality in it, and the lack of any other distractions...thanks to us underperforming everywhere else.

The Ange cultists are really in full force on the latest Ali G video. It's fine to be positive but any little critique about the game or Ange is met with fans calling them out, insulting them, telling them to go support someone else. Someone mentioned that AZ were unlucky not to make it to ET and a response was to question that person's intelligence.

It's so weird the hold this manager has over some despite how bad this season has been. One little win against average AZ and all is forgiven I guess.

Most of them are stout levy supporters who know deep down they’ve been mugged off by levy for years but are so deep in it, they can’t backtrack. If Ange fails, it’s yet another type of manager that can’t make enics restrictions work. 18 month Enic cycle of failure continues

Im delighted we won that game, but Ange doesn’t have the tactical nous to win this competition. A worse squad with a better manager will knock us out.

Ali G's channel has become very pro-Ange, more so than pro Levy. He talks to Ange regularly so is probably afraid to rock the boat by criticising Ange much. Of course many of those who follow Ali G will lap it up and gravitate to the same opinion.

It's sad that there has to be this divide but people are not willing to accept other opinions and feel the need to attack them if they don't share their own.

It was a good win but our win against Villa last season was better, for a comparison.

Personally I think anyone 4 nil away win in the PL is a brilliant performance. Let alone at the champions' fortress who, even after an average season are 4th/5th.

It was a brilliant performance and result. One of our best. Here's a list of teams who have emulated that result........

Unfortunately sizz, it’s acceptance and excuse like this that holds this club back.

Never would have heard a spurs fan say rubbish like this when bill Nick or burkinshaw were in charge. Probably even when venables and Poch were in charge. At least fans believed and expected success. Now they just accept being mugged of, constantly told they’re ‘entitled’ and to shut up and pay up.

Spurs fans being described as ‘entitled’ is a f a cking insult.

They are entitled to a level of product that matches their loyalty and the prices they are charged to watch.

People can support the club in any way they wish. Including demonstrating that 1 trophy in 24 years for this club is unacceptable. That is not entitled. That is a fact.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's also a fact that 95 per cent of the football pyramid have not even won one trophy in the past 16 years.

That’s fine then.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You would have heard fans saying exactly the same. The fans back then were not as entitled as the modern supporter. When I starting supporting Spurs they were bottom of the table. I did not expect anything. I was lucky though Sir Billy built a great team. Same with the Burkenshaw team, we didn`t expect much when they were relegated, but the General again built a great team.

You sound like an entitled supporter that think it is Spurs right to win trophies, and it isn`t. You have to earn them.
