According to Nixo ( going with the theme ) he seems to think we're still going after the Sturm Graz RB too.

If that is the case then Nyambe, Jackson and Osborn must be surplus. Just need to sell them for 7-8 million to cover some of our outlay!

Can't see us in a relegation battle with that squad, with 11 teams equipped for a promotion drive I think we'll be outside the play offs. Depends how quickly the players gel, those who have already been here adapting to Eustace's change from three at the back to his preferred formation.

I do wonder how Adams is going to get on this season? With Weimann, Clark and Brewster offering an AM option hopefully this means Adams is no longer going to be considered in an advanced role.

Clark's signing ( due to the expectations on him now) hopefully takes a little of burden away from Agyemang to perform 'guns blazing'

Re WBA just the luck of the draw. Most Championship teams are involved at this stage. Just a few byes.

Derby County have reportedly held talks with Chelsea to sign their young defender Alfie Gilchrist.

The 21-year-old, who operates primarily in central defence or as a right-back, spent last season on loan at Sheffield United.

Daily Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath confirmed in a post on X: "Chelsea have held talks with Derby County over a move for Alfie Gilchrist. The 21yo was on loan at #SUFC last season."

Without listing them all I reckon that at present we have a 27-man squad. If I am right that you can only have 25 then we will have to part with some players either permanently or on loan.

On this basis I reckon the following could leave (altho I'm not necessarily saying they should) - Ward, Rooney, Osborn and Brown.

Even if this happens and the more so if still more come in, how on earth is JE going to keep all these players happy? Who is now at risk of being mainly a bench-warmer?

I'd leave Rooney well alone. He was entitled to demand a transfer but has played rather well in the friendlies and as a utility player offers options in defence and midfield.

I do wonder what Clarke's injury issue is like and if Dion Sanderson will be offering cover at CB whilst Clarke recovers?

Quick glance at our team and adding Sanderson and Clark makes it a 29 man squad!

Oh and if Travis and a RB do sign that's 31! With our better Academy players possibly having an opportunity of being on the fringes of the squad that's easily THREE separate teams that can be fielded.

I still make it 27 Desi - I'm not counting Charlie or Gordon.

I would like Rooney and Brown to stay but think it's unlikely they would be other than bench-warmers.
