Any manager coming in would have to win a trophy within two seasons. Ange did it, and has set the benchmark.
If Ange does leave I suspect it will be because he is going of his own accord, basically hounded out by a few toxic fans in our fanbase.

Try and focus on the bigger picture Sandy. It’s tiring listening to this polarised opinion about what success and failure represents. It’s a sliding scale.
Levy will cause himself enormous problems if he sacks Ange. The heat is off him right now with the Europa win. Sack the manager a couple of weeks after, and Levy would probably have to go into hiding.

Exactly and if the next manager fails i don’t think there will be any repairable damage for Levy.

What about multiple cups Billy?
OP
Might as well change the title to 'Out'. Multiple sources all saying the same thing.... he will be sacked and the only uncertainty is timing of the announcement.
Two or three names in the frame. (Silva, Frank and possibly one unknown).
Crap. I was hoping you'd keep him. Not good enough for the pl.
It's funny seeing the reaction from some sections of the Spurs fanbase. Many of the Ange In brigade are indeed furious. Apparently those of us who have wanted Ange out were the negative, miserable fans of the bunch. Now this lot are crying.
You also get fans flip flopping about the place and looking extremely fickle. Xavi is out of work at the moment. Redknapp once stepped in after 8 games. Ramos stepped in mid season as well. As did Jose.
There will always be someone available Ted so don't worry. If someone like Xavi is still free we could go for him.
But typical Ted, only thinking about the negative. What if Ange managed to adapt and turn our league form around? Miore egg on your face I suppose.

Which sceano is more likely, given all Poatecoglu's pronouncements in the past?
Your choice.....but have your new manager ready when the truth comes home!

Not another boring Ange out article. He has just won Europe's 2nd biggest trophy, and still supporters are banging the Ange out drum.
Ask yourself what was his brief at the start of the season. A trophy and CL. One would have been fine. The fact that he has attained both should be enough to keep at Spurs for another five years minimum.
Had Pochettino done what Ange has just achieved. Bot in a million years would be having this conversation.
It seems winning the Europa for some is not good enough, then they have to start questioning how they achieved it, and start to downplay the competition. Total nonsense. Spurs won it on merit, and were absolutely worthy winners.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Postecoglu's brief at the start of the season was 4th place in the Premiership.
There was absolutely no mandate to acheive Champions League competition.
2. He failed miserably in that brief and landed the club in an unbelievable 17th place, one above relagation with the worst loss record in the clubs history.
3. Luckily we had an easy path thru the Europa league and managed a really lucky win against a God Awful Manu squad.
4. So now you argue Postecoglu should be given the chance to get us relegated next season?
5. Some fans may agree with you. I do not.
The guy can now march out of WHL with his head high and his boast of always winning something in his second season intact.
But to give him another crack at relegation is sheer madness.
6. The squad needs a total overhaul, older players replaced by young future stars like Gray and Bergvall, and a new manager with experience of winning in the Premiership, the toughest competition in the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ted posting absolute twaddle again.
His brief would have been CL or a trophy. He achieved both. Only a simpleton like you would say otherwise.
Spurs didn't have an easy path through Europa. They played 15 matches, and were worthy winners. Only a simpleton like you would say otherwise.
Ange won't get Spurs relegated. Only a simpleton like you would say he would.
The moral of Ted's ridico8pist is that he us a complete simpleton, and thinks Spurs winning a trophy and getting CL should never be allowed to happen because Ange was the manager.
Ted you dope.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You obviously didn't watch the final match against Manu.
Our only goal was a ricochet off a defender.
And we had too rely on the unbelievable athleticism of VDV to keep the ball out of our net.

Well I don't write letters to the owner asking for managers to be sacked, if I wanted to be extra toxic. I suppose you were left raging when we reached a CL final under Poch, were you? Was that what prompted the letter?
Of course the one person you won't blame if Ange is sacked, who will be directly responsible for it, is Levy. You would rather blame fans than the person who actually makes the decision and carries out the action. That is the epitome of a toxic fan, or a hypocritical moron, whichever is more applicable.
For the record, I'm still Ange in because I don't really believe we should be sacking a manager after what he's just achieved but let's be real here, Sandy, winning that Europa League won't suddenly turn us into serial winners. The only way you do that is by developing a squad and proving it's worth in the Premier League. The reason why I do hold Poch in far higher regard than Ange is precisely because the squad he trained, coached and moulded would utterly obliterate this current one at a canter. You talk about trophies as progress but how do you account for the fact that his team would kill the current one?
Do you want us to be hovering mid-table or lower and picking up the odd trophy every 10 years or dining at the top table every year, putting CL money into the squad year on year and actually challenging the elite? The only way you achieve that is by being feckin good in the league. We're 17th so whilst, yes, it's lovely to win a trophy, the nearest clue as to whether it's sustainable or not is seen in the league place finish because that's the widest measure of how good you actually are. Newcastle, I'd say, are best equipped to potentially repeat their success this season because their league form suggests it's not a one off, they've been good over a 38 game season. Our success feels like an anomaly because not many 17th placed teams win the second tier European competition.
Your ignorance of the league in the face of trophy success is just bizarre. So are you saying that if Ange won us the EL but got us relegated, he'd still be a legendary manager? Do you really believe that with a record like that, he deserves to be ahead of Poch. With a relegation?
Honestly, it's laughable if you do think that. Like I said, I'm happy to keep him on because of sick of flip-flopping but let's be real here. He's got a long way to go before he even remotely matches Poch's achievements because trophies are obviously the ultimate goal, but not the only measure of success.

Poch is the most overrated manager in Spurs history. You have destroyed him by saying his team would obliterate the current Spurs team. If he was that good, how come he allowed a hoofball Leicester side to win the title. If he was any good he should have delivered trophies in five seasons. No excuses. The fact that in the six seasons since he left he has won next to nothing shows how average a manager he was.

I was Ange in out before and I'm Ange in out now. The cup if you want to analyse it, was as much a happy accident and an anomaly, as it was Ange using his tactical nous to win it. The situation was in place for us to do well.
Overall though the season was poorly managed, so why should a few games in a cup against weakish opposition, be a better gauge to judge Ange on than the 30+ games in which we were rubbish?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think you can put down the cup win as an anomaly. We shocked Frankfurt, Bodo and United with our more passive approach and that was down to Ange. If you apply the logic of that famous Chelsea game where we played 'our' way regardless of being down to 9 men, Ange has unquestionably moved the needle since then. With the injuries we had in the final, I'm convinced that we'd have lost that game had we opened up and Ange deserves a lot of credit for choosing to go against his principles in order to win.
We can't cherry pick successes and put them down luck. I don't think we need to. The league form has been so catastrophic that it has Ange bang to rights anyway. We don't need to spin anything.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I mean if you were to say at the start we'd reach a semi and we just have to overcome Bodo Glimt and a Man United who had been at their worst for decades, who we'd also beaten 3 times already, you'd think we hit the jackpot. I haven't checked but has there ever been a European final involving 2 such low placed teams? 16th vs 17th? That's the anomaly.
Yes Ange's tactics worked well for the final though I'm not entirely sure now if that's because of the injuries or not, and like you say, did that actually work in our favour?
From Ange's perspective, which is how we should be looking at it, he was rather lucky to still be in a job by the final and have that opportunity to win it. A lot of managers haven't had the luxury of time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All we had to do in 2008 was beat a relegated Pompey to make it to an FA Cup final vs Cardiff City. We failed and that is one of many failures in the last few decades where Spurs on paper should be there or thereabouts.
There is no talking down this Europa achievement because of the "luck of the draw" etc because fans like you give no quarter when we lose to the Champions in a semi final, or away at Fulham in Ange's 4th game in charge or vs Champions City in the 5th round. You use these outcomes to beat the manager/club but when we get the job done you are just as quick to talk down how easy it was on paper! You tipped teams to beat us almost every time, including United who, on paper, have had a better season than us.
The players love him and he won a cup! why sack him and bring in someone who has won nothing

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I find it hard not to talk down what Ange did and try and fathom reasons why it happened, since we have been so poor in the league.
Objectively speaking though, there is no denying we had a less difficult opponent to overcome in a final than previous finals. I didn't think we'd beat United owing to the Spursiness we go through in those sorts of games and United's recent tournament winning experience, but we always had a chance against a team who we beat 3 times already and who were having a poor season like ourselves. As it turned out, the opposite of Spursiness happened and we won with a lucky own goal and survived last ditch efforts to hold on to the lead through Vic's save and VDV's block.
As for the Portsmouth game, I still remember that and it unfortunately did have that Spursiness that had followed us around like a bad smell - a very slippery pitch that led to Dawson slipping at the wrong time for Portsmouth to score and also a legit goal ruled out. We were unlucky.
Fans now talk of Ange like he is some master of trophies because of the Europa win, yet it's funny how last season we went out of both cups at an early stage. It was our worst performance in the domestic cups for nearly 20 years.

Any manager coming in would have to win a trophy within two seasons. Ange did it, and has set the benchmark.
If Ange does leave I suspect it will be because he is going of his own accord, basically hounded out by a few toxic fans in our fanbase.

And we had too rely on the unbelievable athleticism of VDV to keep the ball out of our net.
Sandy you are a royal WUM and a twerp to boot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry I didn't know deflected goals were not allowed.
Would you rather had the goal chalked off?
You really are one of the stupidest Spurs fans on the forum.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are the idiot here....deflected goals are lucky.
Our win was due to good luck against a damned awful team.
Sandy you have Alzheimers, admit it and shut your mouth.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs played 15 teams to win the Europa Ted. Not one.
It's you that have a problem with remembering things. Time for your medication I think.
