Heavy on strikers, short of a MF general.

Thought Travis was supposed to the one.....

A game of two halves for us. The first, we were far too passive, sloppy in clearances, unbalanced in midfield and Morris again isolated. Clark and BBD did not seem able to play around him. Our WBs rarely got forward so Preston were able to play at their own pace without it has to be said causing any great problems. Their goal was a superb strike but it should never have got that far.

Agyemang made all the difference second half and again showed what a powerhouse he can be. Some good first touches, great turns and bursts of pace. At last their goalie had something to do and he pulled off one great save from PA. (JWZ had also made a brilliant save earlier to keep it at one down.)

There were some good individual performances, notably Clarke, Sanderson, Fozzie and Travis with Johnston getting in some excellent crosses but not until the second half.

Bobby Clark again was not much involved and I'm not convinced we need both of Travis and Ebou, at least at home. There is still a lack of consistent creativity and too little care when in possession but I'm sure it will come.

Looks like a classic DM to me. Can he play further up the pitch and hold on to possession a bit more ?

I think Travis is a great player at this level but the balance is not there. Adams is not the kind of player who can play pass and move football so we are struggling to shift the ball effectively. Clark is ineffective as a wide player and would be better as a 10 if he is to play. BBD was poor.

We were way off it first half, allowed Preston to dictate and were ponderous in the extreme in possession. In the second half there were glimpses of what the forwards could do if they get the service but there lies the problem for Eustace. He seems not to rate Ozoh but there needs to be a change in midfield of some sort

Ok, so is the problem that Eustace really needs to play either Travis or Ebou but, like Gerrard and Lampard, they don't play well together?
Is he scared of dropping Ebou? Fan backlash?
Do we need to be playing Ozoh with Travis for a bit more forward movement?

Clearly a pretty weedy result all considered.
