Good performance and an away win .... don't care where Wolves are in the league, it's an away win in the prem. Need to back it up on Saturday mind.

I think the team are doing good so far .... Arsenal can/will do that to others - but beyond that they're doing okay.

As for the BA debate - he's in our squad, he's our player. We don't have the luxury of the more established clubs - he's doing fine and clearly DF trusts him and what he provides. That'll do for me.

Appreciate this is a left-field view but, personally, I'm glad DF picks the team, not the JA606 gang.

you say that milks, but I'd rather have you pick the team if we happen to play Europa league at any point

Aaronson spends half the time on the floor, too lightweight; bullied off the ball too often. Can't shoot, but works hard and creates spaces for others, true.

But all in all he is not good enough for the PL.

He is what we have, and Farke sees them in training every day, so... but as I mentioned before; I have a feeling it is also to do about the American-connection. I may wrong, as I foten am when it comes to Football.
And only Football.

My wife does not agree witht he latter, but that is just a minor thing.

It's all about opinions LN ........ yours just as valid. We all see players differently from time to time. Not sure about the US connection myself, but then again, who knows could be?

My wife is always right - subject doesn't matter.

You think our American owners are so obsessed with American branding and awareness that they forced Farke to keep a player that makes the American bench, whilst showing no intent on signing any other, more prominent American players?

Given how much of the narrative about Aaronson is about why Farke loves him more than he should, the idea that he is being made to play him is laughable.

I don't think Aaronson is a PL player. I suspect when he leaves us he will have a decent career in Spain or Germany. Reality is that he is 4th choice winger, and that means he will not be PL quality. We are not going to have PL quality depth across all positions. Not this season at least.

Good idea Spit.. I'll play the u18's

BTW BA is very much a bielsa type player - although a 'Marsch signing' from his old club, the deal for BA was agreed while Bielsa was still here and nothing happened without his approval.

Great win saturday especially coming from behind, Wolves were gash so hopefully we only need to find two more clubs to finish above.
Gudmundsson came back well from last week.
Centre backs coped well especially in the 2nd half when Wolves went long all the time.
I thought the skipper had an excellent game and is developing into a top performer.
Okafor looked dangerous and has genuine pace i just wonder when we play the top clubs he will be a bit of a luxury though time will tell.
Great to have someone who is good in the air and can lead the line well in DCL what a great goal not seen one like that for a while.
Regarding Brendan he does a lot of the things the manager wants him to do and he trusts him but not many things we would like him to do, when we hopefully progress in the league he will be replaced but atm hes doing what the manager wants.
I think the manager is a good one he can set a team up well and is tactically aware, hes a bit stubborn and has made one or two decisions but will stand or fall by them.
As mentioned elsewhere the Championship is poor and if we can stay up we have a great chance to kick on, i don think the PL is great this season PSR seems to have stopped a lot of clubs from strengthening as much as they would have liked so with a bit of luck we can survive.
One last thing i believe Stach's goal was the first direct free kick we have scored away from home since Ian Harte in 2002.

Apologies was a year out.

His goal at Molineux was also the first time a Leeds player had scored a goal from a direct free-kick in the Premier League away from home for the first time in 22 years.
Statistician Jonny Cooper revealed that Stach’s free-kick was the first scored by a Leeds player since Ian Harte netted a goal in a famous 3-2 win over Arsenal at Highbury in 2003.

Aaronson has his best game in ages and the sharks are still out for his blood!

Very interesting discussion on this thread!

Somebody mentioned Willy Gnonto a while back but it struck me when Pirro was trying to go long in the early games that he literally had nobody to aim at - Gnonto and James are small and Piroe is more of a ghost. Now we have DCL "leading the line," his fitness notwithstanding, we have the option of going long, with Okafor and James feeding off him. We also avoid getting exposed by a really good high press like at the Emirates.

Re Brendan Aaronson: if we'd signed Buenanotte or Wilson, and if James was fully fit and firing, I don't think we'd be seeing so much of him. Yes, his work rate is very high but he just doesn't seem to have much else to offer.

Re the goals, I find it very interesting that the first two on Saturday were quite unusual.

DCL's header was a really excellent goal - the way he twists in the air to get power and direction. Sublime.

Stach free kick was a peachy thing of beauty that we haven't seen for god knows how long. Sublime. The DCL flop that bought the foul? Equally sublime!

Okafor's goal wasn't bad either but at Leeds, we've grown used to wingers doing what he did.

And it was really reassuring to see how well we shut up shop for the second half - even if I was rooting for a sneaky fourth on the break just to ease the goal difference!

And ADRITK is right, Ampadu is really turning into a top £50 million PL player and a great leader. First name listed in any starting XI - we are much more driven and coordinated when he's on the pitch.

This Aaronson American thing is a problem around here!..

Farke uses him because he gets in the opponents faces and causes mayhem in their defences leading to our players picking up the pieces, which sometimes wins games for us!..

People try and bring him down but he's doing his job and is a real pain for the other teams!..

I think the key words missing in Don’s original
post but included in the direct quote layer were ‘premier league’’

Think we got the odd away free kick in those miserable decades in the championship

thinking about it, have we had a decent (consistent) free kick taker since Harte?..
