Ligue 1 isn't a low block league? I'd say it's more low block than Prem. Hardly any team in world football faces more low blocks than PSG in France.

I'd say Mbappe tracks back more than Haaland too, for example. Nothing wrong with a Mbappe show so long as it works and brings glory.

In short, all of these points are hogwash tbh. Mbappe would be scoring almost as many as Haaland if he was at City.

I don’t think I want Mbappe in all seriousness, too much of an ego which would affect the team. What has made us strong under Klopp is the absence of those kind of players. United on the other hand have had plenty, been an absolute shiitshow and desperate to get rid of them.

Mbappe is not just a pace merchant. Sure, the EPL teams have quick defenders and he'd face low block regularly but he's strong on the ball so very difficult to dispossess. Passing is decent (plenty of assists), finishing is excellent. He's a truly exceptional player whose record at international and CL level matches anyone. The idea he wouldn't be successful in the EPL is an odd one to me. Of course he would be.

The question of whether a team is prepared to make him the centre of team and build around him is a separate but really valid point. Especially given the spectre of a RM move would forever loom.

I get why clubs would decide against given the wages within a structure and team dynamic, but questioning whether he'd be successful - feels contrary stuff.

if doaks fit he should be playing atleast 45 mins ideally 60. wouldnt mind seeing 1 or 2 more youth either but most of that team need minutes too so unlikely.

My prediction for tonight is that Nunez will miss a sitter at some point.

Yeah, I’d be very surprised if there was any truth in this. Seems to me that he’s intent on leaving but there’s no credible buyers showing an interest yet. So there’s probably a bit of flapping going on by his agents and they’re using us to get some interest going.

But as for him not adapting to the PL that’s utter nonsense. He’s one of the best players in the world and chances are he’d go up another level once he’s actually playing competitive games more than a few times a season, after no doubt stagnating in the farmers league.

It may well be financially viable, especially when you consider his huge marketing value. But I think someone (City) will just blow us out of the water. If they do get him then the league will just be an even bigger farce.
