It's selfish as he knows they're negotiating and knows that of course he hasn't received a contract offer yet when negotiations are ongoing but his words will have people like yourself in uproar. Clubs don't just offer contracts to players, they negotiate first until agreement is achieved then offer the contract.
Carra should pipe down tbh.
Carra himself made comments about his contract in the past which have come back to haunt him.
Kinda agree on Carra speaking about Salah making comments but fully agree when he said the most important thing was about Liverpool winning the title, that is should be over anything else?
Of course you would want Salah to stay, no question but if he did go he would be replaced with another, as good as or worse who knows but win a this title and thats there forever, for what its worth I think the club and him sort something out but tie will tell
Don't think Carra said anything wrong. He praises Mo as up there with Gerrard and Dalglish but said he shouldn't have done it when we've got such a big week coming up as it'll be a distraction.
Also made the point that if anything doing after the City game, assuming we won/he played well, would have an even bigger impact.

No issue with that but leaving it this lte etc is on the club. Month before hes allowed to speak to other clubs ive no issue with salah doing what he did. Letting the fans know, anyone has an issue with it like carra and is calling out salah for it is clearly pointing the finger at the wrong people.

He called him selfish which is pretty damning of Mo. Very poor choice of words. Salah does not need Carra recognition of where he stands along the legends. The records and stats speak for itself.
Why should Salah stay quiet anyway? Who makes the rules when it is a safe time to say it? In just over a month he will get multiple offers all over the world with unreal money. That is probably more unsettling than telling some reporters that no offer has been made.

The club didn't tell Salah to make the pointless claim that he hasn't received a contract. The actual comment should have been that they are in negotiation about the contract. Instead he wanted to push his own agenda to strengthen his hand. Of course it was selfish and that was down to him not the club.
Agree they have left it late, nobody could say otherwise but that doesn't mean Salah wasn't selfish. He knew exactly what he was doing.
As you would expect for numerous obvious reasons, so pointless in calling him out for it. Even if you are annoyed by it then point the finger in the right direction imo.
No footballer has ever rejected a contract actually. They are always sorted out first and then offered, absolutely unheard of to see a footballer reject a contract.

Yep, it happens all the time. I was being sarcastic.
It's not even that damning. This is what players do nowadays as they have agents who know exactly how to play the game.
I'm sure people haven't forgot the last contract dance off the club had with Salah, which lasted 12 months. Similar tactics were employed from Salah's side during negotiation.

Yes that's a take or leave it offer, when the priority for the club isn't high. It obviously won't happen like this for a player like Salah.

Selfish is a ridiculous term to use. The rationale even more idiotic imo; selfish because we're playing RM this week?! It's daft to think Mo speaking to a journalist is impacting our preparations for the game.
I do think Mo's playing the fan-base like a fiddle though! He's had the reaction he would have wanted. Not that it bothers me - if we hadn't got to 7 months before expiry then we wouldn't have having it played out in public.

I think Carragher's angle was the fact that Salah sought out the media, rather than being asked the question and responding, he went looking for them, which Carragher felt was selfish, considering the club have two big games coming up and the club need to be focusing on them. I dont necessary agree that's the reason he has been selfish, airing this to the media is the selfish part when he knows negotiations are ongoing but most players do this, they have agents who know how to play the game. By the same token, Carragher is being selfish as he's created more of a storm out of it when there are these big games coming out.
Everybody is in it for themselves, including the club. This is what negotiations are, finding the best deal from your side that the other party is willing to accept. For the player, airing their views is an attempt to get the club to be more willing to agree closer to his side.
