Selfish is a ridiculous term to use. The rationale even more idiotic imo; selfish because we're playing RM this week?! It's daft to think Mo speaking to a journalist is impacting our preparations for the game.

I do think Mo's playing the fan-base like a fiddle though! He's had the reaction he would have wanted. Not that it bothers me - if we hadn't got to 7 months before expiry then we wouldn't have having it played out in public.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Carragher's angle was the fact that Salah sought out the media, rather than being asked the question and responding, he went looking for them, which Carragher felt was selfish, considering the club have two big games coming up and the club need to be focusing on them. I dont necessary agree that's the reason he has been selfish, airing this to the media is the selfish part when he knows negotiations are ongoing but most players do this, they have agents who know how to play the game. By the same token, Carragher is being selfish as he's created more of a storm out of it when there are these big games coming out.

Everybody is in it for themselves, including the club. This is what negotiations are, finding the best deal from your side that the other party is willing to accept. For the player, airing their views is an attempt to get the club to be more willing to agree closer to his side.

Wonder how 'selfish' the comments would be interpreted if said it to Sky instead

I mean he has put him up there with Gerrard and Dalglish. You can't be a bigger fan than that surely?

Yeah it's something that didn't need to be said but he wanted to create a story for his own selfish reasons...or Sky's since I'm not entirely convinced some of what he says has not been 'created' for him, like tactical analysis for example.

He literally did it after the Man U game and Carra was not offended. Carra is a hypocrite.

Taylor 4th official too, 3 Mancs

PGMOL is going full out this weekend, they know the importance of a City win.

Kavanagh is one of the few refs I trust but to have 3 refs from Greater Manchester is very suspect

Absolute farce of an organisation.

No apology for the clear error at the weekend either

yh questioned him, but recently hes had some good games for us so hope that continues. Tierney clearly has an agenda against Liverpool though. Expect nothing from VAR.

posted on 26/11/24

Theyd never stick 3 scouse refs/liverpool fans on a game vs a manc club, happens all the time the other way round to us. Theres a few scouse based refs and the aussy one who declared himself a liverpool fan isnt allowed to ref us but is manc clubs.

To be fair whilst I think it's an error I dont think it's worthy of an apology. It was tight and the referee called it one way, VAR didn't see a clear and obvious error and the same VAR was called out by Webb for intervening in the West Ham penalty when not a clear and obvious error.

Hopefully they get some minutes towards the end with the City game in mind for Trent starting.

They reckon it was because Robbo also made contact with his thigh and that part was further forward and over the line.

Who does? I don't think that comes into it. It's where the first foul occurred unless it's holding which continued into the box, as far as I know.

Trent should still be match fit but not worth the risk to chase Mbappe

Aside from the foul being outside the box, you're right there was no clear and obvious error...

If a goalkeeper touches it where Robbo made the foul, it's a handball every day of the week.

That's just ridiculous gymnastics IMO. If that's a penalty then football has changed from what I knew it as. Even with VAR they can't get it right.

Webb on his own is one of the big problems IMO. He causes confusion across the PGMOL. His leadership, direction and manifesto for the PGMOL is a failure, VAR implementation also a failure.
