I'm confused -- are they saying 'Operation Temperer' or 'Operation Tempura'?
I'm not sure how safe I'd feel being protected by an operation named after a deep-fried snack.
Surely the government can do batter.

Those that radicalise will target lads ages 18-25, who become politically aware but not mature enough to deal with it.
Testosterone fuelled, and have buttons that can be pushed by manipulative folks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What could they have been saying that can convince someone to do such a thing? Someone really should do a social experiment to see what kind shiet they preach to their recruits. It might just be informative enough to help stopping all this.

Probably along the lines of..
See these dead children in Libya, that could be you
They're you're brothers and sisters
All the arms were from western states
They are making us kill ourselves
They want you to die too
This is not your home
You can only call paradise home
The quicker you reach it, the better
Protect your brothers and sisters
Teach those criminals a lesson
Do it for those you protect so there'll be no more
It's your responsibility otherwise you're guilty as those criminals
Just like that, emotional blackmail, guilt, anger..
Said continuously for months only it can have this effect.

My apologies for how I spoke to you on the other thread. I genuinely believe if we ever met in a coffee shop we'd have a good chat and bond but sometimes on typed yo threads things can be said and stupid things come out.
Peace brother ✌🏽
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well a few level headed people have told me that I shouldn't have responded straight away while emotions are high. I can see how it's insensitive but it's misinformation being spread about what I believe which has caused me trouble in my private life.
I'll probably take a back seat next time (unfortunately it's very likely there will be a next time) until the next day IF balance isn't provided by other people.
Apology accepted and I apologies to anybody who may have thought I was being insensitive or lacking respect for the victims.
A bloke I know had a brother who was friends with a man who was a bus driver or something. They had been mates for a while and one day the bloke I know woke up to find that his brothers mate the bus drivers kid had blown himself up.
Many people questioned the bloke I know as to whether there were any signs and some even became suspicious of him too.
Yet the truth is even the bus driver father hadn't a clue and the family suffers to this day for the actions of their kid with fingers being pointed etc
Saying people should "shop" is easy but most of the time how do you know?
How many of our parents knew what we got up to at 16 never mind in our 20's?
Reading the bios of such people they are not easily spotted
People think its easy to 'shop' someone. These guys are hiding what they are doing. Not just to those that know them but also trying to stay under the radar of the authorities.
There have been a few reports I read that parents have shopped in their kids. But then there are knows kids getting questioned by police due to spelling mistakes.
I've even heard on piece in the US. Two guys shop in a revert to the FBI because they, while travelling in the same car, heard him say he wants to blow something up. The FBI then investigate the two guys and make their lives hell as it turns out that the guy they shopped in was an FBI informant or something.
What we need to know, especially the parents and family members, are signs of radicalisation. How to spot them, how to turn them back or turn them in. This is a very fine line to pull off.

And I'm sorry to everyone
I don't think this kid was born in the UK. I read on the BBC yesterday that his parents came here 10 years ago to get away from the Gaddafi regime. They brought him along with their three other kids.
He returned from Libya within the last week.
While I'm sure it's true that these weirdos are hard to spot for the Muslim community, his neighbour last night said that he had started to stand in the street, shouting his prayers.
Salman visited the mosque on a number of occasions to pray, but the imam insisted “he was not my friend, he is not close. I could understand that he was not happy with me because I did combat Isis in that Friday sermon sometimes”.
This is behaviour that clearly needed to be reported.

I believe the bomber was born in Manchester. But his place of birth, for me, is irrelevant.
Ideology transcends borders.
Which is one of the reasons why I get frustrated when simpletons like Farage propose straightforward measures/controls to an extremely complicated situation.

On the face of it, I totally agree.
Seems so obvious now; I wonder if hindsight is at work here?
Why didn't the fckin Imam say anything?
From the Iman:
"Salman showed me the face of hate after my speech on Isis [an acronym for the Islamic State group]," said the imam. "He used to show me the face of hate and I could tell this person does not like me. It's not a surprise to me."
If the Iman did not alert the police then he should be arrested by the police and questioned. He should also be relieved of his duties of working in the mosques.

Reading it again, he possibly means he now realises that's why he was off with him.
But the praying loudly in the street? This isn't normal behaviour is it.

Should have waited to post my last comment, because yeah this is pretty unforgivable.

Morning Brightdave good discussion on this yesterday
Didsbury mosque is one of the biggest Mosques in Manchester and the lead Imam is someone who turned a blind eye is unforgivable.
He should be fired but I doubt it will happen which is a shame cos it would send a perfect message that if you don't report then there will be consequences.
But the question needs to be asked Kash, whether this is the fault of one man, or is it a wider problem of people not taking these signs seriously? Would other Imam have reported the man?

You don't get this kind of behaviour in mosques anymore. These lunatics have gone underground because if they show these radical signs they are being reported. That's why I am surprised that it happened and then it was not reported.
