"I know it's a slippery slope but in an ideal world the Muslim community would 'shop' the people who are likely to bring shame to the religion."

They are and they do, although I believe more could be done in certain areas. The intelligence services also stop the vast majority. Unfortunately, due to the easy access to information and social media (and ability to hide to an extent whilst looking at it), it's not easy for either to spot everything and everyone.

They shouldn't have let anyone in without a ticket. Also, being towards the end of the show, the security people shouldn't let anyone in the building period. Just let people out only.

Do y'all not go through metal detectors? How is the process like in the UK?

For those interested, in the US, you go through metal detectors and security people have the right to go through your purses/bags, etc. In the NFL games, think you have to put all the stuff you're bringing into a clear plastic bag otherwise they'll turn you away at the door.

Thing is, Rob, how many among the Muslim community are aware of who are the potential terrorists within their community?

I don't think the demonusa of Muslims makes it viable to simply 'shop' them, without bringing themselves under suspicion - and that's even if they have any idea who these people are.

This wasn't in the gig

Just at the very front doors as people were coming out I think. He burst in before the metal detectors and just pulled the 'trigger'

If that's the case, I don't think anyone could've prevented that then...

I think a lot more needs to be done to gain trust from the leaders in these communities that entire religions won't be demonised. Just the bad seeds

Yeah, that's the sad thing. It can't be stopped if someone has the bomb and wants to do it.

Yes but that's easier said than done. It needs a complete cultural change to stop the demonisation of Islam. And while these atrocities are happening that becomes even more unlikely as they add fuel to the fire.

True. I just hope that now these things are happening so close to the communities in this country maybe something will change. Who knows.

Like I said before, it's the intelligence services that will be looking at how this slipped through. The challenge there though is how much control and visibility they can have without everyone being impacted in terms of privacy.

To stop this, it needs a huge amount of thought in multiple areas and from multiple parties, right from MPs all the way to mosques.

The whole rhetoric and viewpoint needs to change and I can't see it happening any time quickly unfortunately

Let's hope so.

This guy didn't act alone.

A 22 yr old born and bred in the U.K. that will have the components, explosives and knowhow to make a bomb?
Then to be brainwashed to actually kill innocents.. chief among them kids and himself..

No chance.

There's some other fackers that are nodding to each other, grinning, and burning the photo of him they had so as to avoid being linked to him.
Those are the cants that need to be picked up, and turned inside out.

Those are the brainwashers, the justifiers, and the enablers.

It's gone way beyond that. It's all gone undercover now and you don't get these radicals preaching at mosques. Whatever the Iman says goes in one hear and out of the other.

I think some people on here need to step into their local mosques.

I know England/London is tolerant because I work with and chill out with non Muslims. Some on here have don't come into contact with Muslims or ask questions about Islam.

Muslims have as much chance of clocking on that somebody is about to massacre people as white non Muslims have of clocking on a white supremacist is going to shoot up mosque.

If the parents of children who massacre other kids in schools don't know whats happening right under their noses how am I supposed to spot a dodgy Muslim?

It's impossible unless somebody openly says they want to kill people or at least hint at killing people by sympathising with the attackers by showing solidarity.

People don't talk about these things in Mosques, they listen to the sermon do they're prayers and then sit quietly and read the Quran.

Unless you have a Finsbury Park mosque situation which was well publicised but nobody did anything about it straight away.

Don't go to the man who is selling a wine shop and tell him please why you selling the wine shop, come to the mosque?

"Make sure that the man who gave him the licence for that wine shop does not exist anymore on the Earth. Finish him up " Abu Hamza

Pretty obvious signs this guy was facked in the head but it took an eternity to sort it out.

Short answer, don't look to Muslims to sort this out because we don't have Professor X powers unless you want us all to become part time private detectives.

That's right Kash, you could be standing next to someone in the mosque, he'd listen to the same stuff you do..

Those that radicalise will target lads ages 18-25, who become politically aware but not mature enough to deal with it.
Testosterone fuelled, and have buttons that can be pushed by manipulative folks.

I'm confused -- are they saying 'Operation Temperer' or 'Operation Tempura'?

I'm not sure how safe I'd feel being protected by an operation named after a deep-fried snack.

Surely the government can do batter.

What could they have been saying that can convince someone to do such a thing? Someone really should do a social experiment to see what kind shiet they preach to their recruits. It might just be informative enough to help stopping all this.

My apologies for how I spoke to you on the other thread. I genuinely believe if we ever met in a coffee shop we'd have a good chat and bond but sometimes on typed yo threads things can be said and stupid things come out.

Peace brother ✌🏽
