One of my top 20 games of all time probably. Or top 50. HOWEVER, I think it is quite possibly the most overrated game of the top of my head. Absolutely loved it, but not up to the GTA's for me.

hmm I disagree with that IMO it had a far stronger story than any GTA game. Then the gameplay itself was the template for what they used for the next GTA. It was the game that introduced the multiplayer that we have on the current GTA also.

I thought the characters, the story and the wild west world was far more engaging and immersive than any of the GTA's. Thats just my opinion however.

Think I played it a year or so after it's original release which could be why my viewpoint is like that delboy. But I remember a fair few lulls and travelling through the desert just thinking meh. But the story was great I'll give you that. I just enjoy the hustle and bustle of being in the city etc.

There were certain things, which by the sound of that clip they are looking to develop in rdr2 which would make it perfect.

The aspect of the first I didn’t like was that your horse just reappeared if you died. The only way around this was if you had it on extreme difficultly, however not having auto aim meant it was a lot less fun.

I always wanted it so that if your horse died that was it and you had to either buy a new one, steal one or catch one.

i like the idea of that mechanic actually .... adds another dimension.

I actually went through half the game somehow without realizing there was an auto aim. It made me really good at multiplayer.

Red dead was a masterpiece of gaming , can’t wait to hogtie a nun and watch the train run her over again.

I also hope they do a nightmare mode again with zombies.

Certainly the case for me. No other game I've ever played have I disagreed with the consensus as much as I do with RDR. One of the most boring & buggy games I've ever played. I thought the characters were awful too.

Opinions and all that. I generally disagree with huge games but found this one amazing. Loved it and it actually undid my hate for westerns.
