Think we should make a push for Woltemade personally...a lot cheaper than Ekitike, he's about 6'6, striker, reminds me a young Ibra. Scored a hatrick for the German U21's recently. Think he could offer us a lot as a target man or more so when we cant break defences down, would be a solid option to go long

I like your thinking Steve
There's a danger that Ekitike becomes this flavour of the month name that everyone thinks they need at their club without really knowing much about him. Woltemade is way more under the radar but would be a really interesting signing and likely good addition to our strikeforce and the squad.

🗣 @Matt_Law_DT: "Chelsea don't feel they can give him [Petrovic] that because they don't feel they're at that stage with him.
Chelsea would want him to come back to fight to be number one, and he wouldn't probably start as number one.
Petrovic, basically, from what I'm told, said, 'Well, I prefer not to go to the Club World Cup. I'd rather look at what I believe my options are to leave.'
So he asked not to go, so they didn't take it on. Chelsea said that if he wanted to go and if he was willing to compete without any guarantees, then he would have taken up one of the goalkeeper slots on the Club World Cup."

Good for him. Minimum he should be expecting is starting from now if we don't sign another keeper, which we shouldn't be this summer if he was given that assurance.
I'll wait & see how it unfolds, but this feels like a mistake. Reliable keepers shouldn't be in short supply but they are atm & he's one of them.

BREAKING: Tottenham Hotspur have held initial discussions with Brentford about a deal for Bryan Mbeumo 🚨
Mbeumo is understood to be more intrigued by a move to Tottenham now that Thomas Frank has become their head coach.
‼️ Chelsea FC have submitted enquiries to Nick Woltemade’s management team. There have been talks.

🗣 Claude Makelele: "I think Chelsea are doing well. They are starting at the beginning [of their project], very slowly.
In the beginning, they changed a lot of players and managers. The new manager [Enzo Maresca] made sure Chelsea finished the season in a good way. They qualified for the Champions League and won a trophy. I think this new Chelsea can be successful now."

Manchester United have reopened talks with Victor Osimhen over a potential transfer in the summer transfer window. The Nigerian international forward is demanding a salary of €12m from his potential new club. (@footmercato via GFFN)
Why are we not opening talks with this calibre of player?

That works out to £195k per week - which really doesn’t sound exorbitant. Much more reasonable than rumours about Nico Williams wage demands.

I imagine he's getting worried about finding a decent move now we're all but off the table after signing Delap.
I'm feeling he'll be at Arsenal by the end of the summer.

Oh my - the way all the united fans were talking last week , they had wrapped this all up, and this singing meant they were back and not a complete laughing stock of the Prem. Could go all Robinho in their faces
Chelsea are preparing a formal approach to Stuttgart for striker Nick Woltemade
Not gonna lie, I am looking forward to this, and really hope it's implemented. Poor old Pickford is gonna need to start training in getting up now:
A corner kick is awarded if a goalkeeper, inside their penalty area, controls the ball with their hand(s)/arm(s) for more than eight seconds before releasing it.
CONTROL OF THE BALL
A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball with their hand(s)/arm(s) when:
➡ the ball is between their hands/arms
➡ the ball is between their hand(s)/arm(s) and any surface (e.g. ground, own body)
➡ holding the ball in their outstretched open hand(s)
➡ bouncing it on the ground or throwing it in the air
REFEREE SIGNAL
The referee will decide when the goalkeeper has control of the ball with their hand(s)/arm(s) and the eight seconds begin, and will visually count down the last five seconds with a raised hand.
However, the main responsibility is for the goalkeeper to comply with the Law. The referee’s signal is intended to ‘assist’ the goalkeeper in doing so, but the absence of a signal does not mean the goalkeeper is exempt from following the Law.
If the goalkeeper is releasing the ball as the countdown reaches ‘zero’ the referee should allow play to continue as the goalkeeper is complying with the ‘spirit’ and ‘intention’ of the Law.
RESTART
If the goalkeeper has control of the ball with their hand(s)/arm(s) for more than eight seconds, the opposing team is awarded a corner kick (rather than an indirect free kick). The kick is taken from the corner area nearest to the goalkeeper’s position when penalised.
NO SANCTION
There is no disciplinary action, unless the goalkeeper repeatedly commits the offence and thus is cautioned (yellow card) for ‘persistent offences’.
