Easy to be loyal when you're always on the treatment couch RDBD...one good season and his loyalty bit the dust
Take him on loan for this season again and sign him on a free next year
"one good season"
combined with one season left on the contract "..."
2+ yrs to go, and he might be less stroppy.
"Take him on loan for this season again and sign him on a free next year"
Doesn't his contract end in 2014 (5 yrs signed in 2009) ??
RDBD
Everyone is saying he is in his last year
True...though I can't help thinking it's more to do with him thinking his less talented ex teammates at City are winning trophies that his ego says should be his
"Everyone is saying he is in his last year "
What do the Mancs say on this ?? 2013 or 2014 ??
What's loyalty got to do with it? Overseas players come here for the money, why else would they leave their family and friends to move to a foreign country.
he has two years left, at least that's what SSN reported
"why else would they leave their family and friends to move to a foreign country"
For a chance of also winning stuff like the CL ??
I would disgusted if you are suggesting Modric only wants to go to Madrid for more money.
RM will probably double his wages as well, that's a big factor.

No idea what Modric gets at Spurs. 50-70K/week I guess.
Ade has another year on his contract and I hope City would rather let him rot in the reserves than let him join a rival on a free.

Strange how N London clubs always exagerate the amount of money City and United players are on while down playing what their own players earn. I'm not for a second saying that United, Chelsea and City dont pay big wages, we do, but arn't Spurs and Arsenal up there in the amount of money spent on players wages. Everyone talks about the cap they have in place yet no one seems to know exactly what amount that cap is.
Paying your players the football equivilant of minimum wage is hardly something to boast about if you consider yourself a big club.
Do people really boast that they pay their players an extortionate amount of money?
"Strange how N London clubs always exagerate the amount of money City and United players are on while down playing what their own players earn."
Not really.
Spurs supporters know that wages and the grades between the players have not been too great because of the revenues that the club has. And that Levy drives a hard bargain.
Operating as a PL top 4 contender with the revenue stream and paying "minimum wage" is in fact something to boast about. If they had done similar, clubs with the likes of Adebayor on their books wouldn't be whining about having a player costing 100K/week + and getting SFA in return on the pitch.

I thought Modric was "only" on 40-50k
Anyways, isn't this story equivalent to a full page ad for an auction..? I can't see clubs that can afford him queuing up, we're still in with a shout IMO.
You lot carry on as if you run some sort of ethical business model. Your principal shareholder is a dodgy tax exile and you were advertising in the papers for a slave earlier this year.

"Our wage bill is NOTHING compared to other clubs"
Based on last available data it is, as a % of turnover (56% compared to G00n 48% and Man Utd 46% ) .
"You lot carry on as if you run some sort of ethical business model."
Run a basic sort of business model.
Activities can more or less only be funded by the incomings, staff wages have to be a manageable % of turnover etc.

By "dodgy" you mean ... ??
