Thoughts on Reiss Nelson's performance today?
Felt he did okay, just not much chemistry with the other players. Which is understandable to a degree, I guess.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought he was okay, if a little underwhelming. Liverpool isn't an easy game but you'd expect your winger to get at TAA more than he did. Maybe not scoring that chance early on knocked his confidence a bit and he was less brave as a result.
Disappointing with Ramsdale for the goal because until that point it was the first performance I'd seen from him where he would be justifiably knocking on the door for another start.

Listen to what Arteta said I really can't see us buying a player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Stubborn guy.
We won't be a striker
Saka never gets dropped because he is very unique. He is not a normal winger. He links play as much as Odegaard and is the outball for Arsenal. There is no one in the squad to replace him and very few less than £100m outside the club.
Odegaard looks lost without Saka and that's an issue.
If anything, Arteta needs to try a change of position for him to help him kick on again. I think Arteta should try him at left no.8. Something Pep is doing for Foden.

I think a lot of people thought Rice and Jorginho would make us too defensive but that wasn't really the case today. We created so many chances I the first half I don't know if that's due to how Liverpool played which is why we were able to create a lot or whether that midfield trio may actually work in some games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, I thought Jorginho, Rice and Odegaard were great in the first half. We totally blew that game tbh.
But then we need a viable RW alternative to do that

Yeah, Klopp must've sensed Kiwoir was the weak link, and totally targeted LB in the second half.

They won more duels in the second half and we started to let them into our box more.

Not reading too much into that though tbh. Plus, more realistic this month would be adding another wide attacker than a striker of the quality we'd want to be signing

Yes. We need to buy one. Or keep Havertz there. His finishing was diabolical but gave fits to Liverpool's defence the entire game.

Maybe because they're not as 'bright' as all you regular academy watchers think they are?
With this profligacy in the final third Arsenal will be hoping to have Jesus back soon. And now Arteta has provided an update on the fitness of the Brazilian international.
"He had some pain in his knee," the Spaniard said in his post-match press conference. "We have done a scan that shows something. Hopefully it’s not something big. It’s the same knee that he had (an injury on before), so we could not take any risks."
Arteta then went on to confirm that he is expecting Jesus to travel to Dubai for Arsenal's midseason training camp. The Gunners will be in the Middle East for a few days for some warm weather training before returning for Premier League action against Crystal Palace.

Or a manager brave enough to play them instead of the likes of Cedric, or Kiwior out of position after subbing him off at half time last game cos he was so poor...
Arteta is not going to use the academy. I think we have to accept it and move on. No point in bigging up players. He trusts experience. I wish he had used Ethan today.

The circumstances are different though, as we're seeing from the reaction of our fans today Klopp has much more good will in the bank so can be afforded mistakes in a game like this, especially as they're the away team.
If Arteta had started youngsters and the game had gone exactly the same then they'd be using that as a stick to beat him with instead
Before today we lost 2 games and havent won a football bame in 6.
So I know why Arteta havent trust the youngsters against a difficult opponent today.
