C'mon Toor lighten up.

One of the problems I had with the documentary, was that it was always going to have a few "do I not like that moments".

That is why I think it was foolish to screen the programme in this country. Fans of any club taking the p(i)ish is warranted because of the content.

I choose to laugh along, because I could see the programme for what it was. A cheesy, glossy and crass marketing exercise.
----------------------------------------
I have no need to lighten up. I didn't find it funny, at all. I'm sure if I did have, I'd have laughed at it but I'd also have understood the benefits.

I did laugh at some parts, like Brendan shouting at Sterling, who looked like a little kid being told off by his teacher and when Rodgers said to Flanagan, it's not on you to bomb forward, Cafu.

Nope but somebody will out of the billions of people on the planet and thus it has worked...right?

You have come across as an absolute child on this thread.

That's OK Didi. If you say so. Let's leave it at that as am sure you can see your foolishness if at all you have now read the article. No point in discussing that further. I don't expect you to admit it.

Can we rename this 'The Argument Thread'. Also can we say I was right? I live for that.

The problem I would have with the whole 'Being Liverpool' thing is that it weakens you as a power. All you will do is put a target on your head for the coming season as you have lost a big psychological edge, being that you have essentially invited the whole of the prem into your club. And teams playing Liverpool wont have the fear of you they once did. Allowing all these insights (including the Ian Ayre statements) just allows the sense of invincibility you created over decades slip away. You can't ever imagine Fergie doing something like this and thats part f the reason clubs still roll over for Man U

Yeah, we'd probably have beat WBA, Villa and Southampton and finished 4th if it wasn't for that pesky show!!!

I've just read the whole thread, and the most childish and pathetic thing on here? Liverpool fans/s searching for items that they think shows the manager in a negative light, in order to point score on a Liverpool forum against Liverpool fans. Get a life.

Not what I said at all was it? Try reading something first before making swipes next time please. But if it makes you feel big and clever then what the hell, have at it mate

It saddens me that people are that annoyed by the sacking of the previous manager that they will go to these heights. Although I did expect it from the people who did it. They were the same people who were trying to find everything and anything to beat the owners with at the end of last season.

Double double. I see what you're saying, but I'd say we'd probably lost our aura of invincibility several years ago, so don't think the programme had much effect on that front.

Very true - I'm not trying to say it is solely the programmes fault at. What I'm getting at is if you want to get it back doing these types of programmes wont help in my opinion. Imagine if when BR took over the whole club was like a fortress, no cameras at training, no substantial media presence apart from matchdays and organised confs. You would have seemed like a real wildcard, especially with a new manager and players.

Then explain you comment in relation to Liverpool, Being Liverpool and what has occurred since the show was aired....

We all know what you were getting at in that post. You'd be better off framing it as your opinion rather than fact. You are just speculating the effect it had.

Instead we had 3 envelopes, meetings about Joe Allen's lucky number and giant self-portraits.

Also got to remember that this show was made purely for American audiences. Do you think they were sitting there thinking how cheesy it was? Doubtful. It's how they like their program's. People mock Ayre on his Harley. If it had been made for British fans I doubt it would of been shown, but the yanks would of lapped it up.

I didn't particularly like the show as I thought it was all stage managed. But if you're trying to raise awareness with people who know little about the sport then you have to make it sanitised. I don't think foul mouthed rants and boots being flung around the dressing room would appeal to your average American family. If it had been made for this country that's what we'd want to see.

I'm no expert, but it seems obvious that you have to cater to your target audience. America = cheesy. Britain = gritty.

Or don't imagine that but think of the actual reality and thus making your comment redundant. We can all imagine various scenarios and put negativity on them but I think it's best to stick to the reality. We are not invinsible, we don't have the fear factor, our image took a bit of a hit, we need more revenue to compete. Now we need to turn those real life negative scenarios into positives. The show attempted this and in some ways achieved it. It wasn't the most interesting show of the century but I found many parts of it interesting and judging by over two million people watching it in the US, the targetted audience, they were millions of others interested too.

There's no guarantee in this, is there?
Kenny didn't have cameras at training or media presence and look how it went in the end? Great points but IMO the show had nothing to do with how our season panned out. It only helped us get more fans abroad which is the only fan hunting ground left.

Its all there in the post mate and I thought the opening of "The problem I would have" frames it as my opinion quite nicely. If you think this is a wum you're wide of the mark and is backed up by the dialogue I'm having with other good posters here. But I don't blame you for trying to have a pop at me to make yourself feel better since Didi has already embarrassed you on this thread...

I really do not understand all the fuss about the programme. It was produced in order to drum up interest in the club and gain more fans overseas, whilst earning revenue through the process. Did it do this? Yes, I'm sure it did.

People who are saying it was not in the Liverpool tradition blah blah blah need to get with the times. Our owners are trying to make us a force again all over the world, to enhance the brand that is Liverpool FC. Get behind them.

Also, can we stop with all the trivial petty point scoring arguments? It's very immature and pathetic, being honest.

Gentlemen, I have in my hand 3 envelopes. In each envelope is the name of a referee who I think will let us down this season when we need an extra 3 minutes. Mr Webb, Mr Halsey, Mr Dowd. Don't let your names appear in one of these envelopes, or it'll be the last envelope you ever see from me.

Its clear to see who is having pops at the other. I engaged you in discussion via an ironic statement and definitely didn't have a pop at you.

Also that's not just an opinion it is also a presumption which i disagree with.

I won't respond to your dig about Didi. The facts back me up. I am not here to be childish.
