That sounds a bit like the 16-8 diet a friend is doing, where all consumption only takes place in an 8 hour window, but that's just to lose weight

Hopefully it is a lesson learnt for us regarding players getting deep into their contract. We've lost out of 40 million plus by not acting on him running down his deal.

Contract negotiations started with him about 2 years ago. he had a 4 year deal, played great for a couple of years, so the club looked to extend the contract and give him a nice payrise.

He doesn't want to play for the club, so there really isn't any lesson to be learned.

What? There is 6 to 12 months of time to "convince" him. If anything it forces their hand quicker. Emre Can was gone from around 18 months ago.

I don;t have an issue with how the club have handled it. It seemed there was enough of a chance that he may stay for the team to continue negotiations. once the ship had sailed, whether it be 12 or 18 months ago, then the choices were to try to sell him or be dignified about the whole thing and accept he was Juve bound and get the most out of him while we still have him.

Not perfect, but given he was seemingly 100% going to run his contract down, I think we done quite well to maintain a good relationship with him and keep his playign standards and dedication high.

Why would it? We have a whole scouting team that I'm sure have lists of dozens of players. Not sure why it is easier to replace them this summer than last?

I ma not saying it is easier to replace him this summer. I am saying that it would be harder to replace last january as teams seem to be more reluctant to sell mid season. We might have a big list of players, but its harder to find that replacement in the january window.

Next to impossible to sell him last summer as everyone and their dog knew he was on his way to Juve. No one could buy him at that point.

Yeah, it's 40 medals for the team. Seems we have used 24 players, so 16 for the back room staff.

Looks like Grujic could get one for his 5 minute cameo against Maribor!

Its worked really well for my digestive issues, where previously i would be sick at least twice a week ive not been ill since i started a month ago, the times ive chosen fit nicely in to my life, i get to eat when i get home from work at 2pm, which is a bit more tiring without breakfast

Emre Can is gone lads no point even debating whether or not he will stay. Guardian confirmed it earlier today. Personally I don’t think theres much chance he will start the final regardless of how well he drives the team forward. Player out for that long and starting him in a game of this magnitude is a no go imo.

It'd be disrespectful to the midfield three who got us through the quarters and semis if one of them was dropped for a barely match-fit Can. He's a good player but not that good.

A shame he's going but it's not like it's come as a surprise. I was wondering whether if we won old big ears he'd have a change of heart but he's guaranteed titles at Juve so I can see the appeal in going there. Hopefully whoever we pick up as his replacement doesn't suffer from the same niggling injury issues Can has and the Watford goal will live long in the memory.
