His tournament was over before I even stepped off the plane!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah he's back. Just got a couple of birdies. +3 now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's gone. He's gonna be at least 8 behind the leader after Round 1. Got to say, he is one of my least favourite sportsman so I am always glad to see him fail... unless it's the Ryder Cup.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Definitely gone now
On the plus side I have noren each way at 100/1
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I got Spieth at 40's which I felt was great. He just hit a double bogie though so is falling away slightly. Oosthuizen is my go to e/w every Open and he's looking solid enough. Snedeker at 120/1 has the game for Open courses in general so have backed him too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I have oosthuizen and Weinberg each way also at 40 and 50/1. Weinberg in at -1
Reporrs in France saying we've bid for Pepe.
sounds like they want a bidding war, doubt we'll partake if it gets silly

Sky sports saying Barca have offered £90m + a choice of 2 players from Dembele, Coutinho, Rakitic, Semedo and Malcolm for Neymar
That's crazy by Barca if that's true

From FA findings on Sturridge betting case: "On 12 January, Dean (Sturridge, uncle and agent) messaged Daniel “Fucckk it stay out of squad” “This Inter Milan (interest) is real”. Daniel responded “Cool with me”. Liverpool beat Man City 4-3 on 14 Jan without Sturridge in squad.
A good insight into Sturridge behind the scenes. I always suspected that there were several occasions in his Liverpool career where he was missing from the matchday squad when if he really wanted to he could have made it (wasn't the only one on here too)
Gerrard saying he had to beg him to play against United when he didn't feel 100% fit before kick off.
Klopp publicly saying Sturridge needed to "learn the difference between what is pain and real pain" are other examples.
Heard on the radio today that James Pearce left the Echo to join an online publication called the Athletic. I've never heard of it before but it's kind of like a Netflix for sports journalism. Pay a fiver a month to get access to their articles with no adverts.
Previously they've stuck to US "sports" but this season they're going in heavy on the Premier League and have nabbed agreements with some pretty big names in sports journalism (our own JP, Oliver Kay, Daniel Taylor, David Ornstein) who will focus on a specific club each.
I'm not really sure how it'll take off to be honest. From a Liverpool perspective, Pearce seems like a decent guy and for a while the Echo was the most reliable source on the club but lately the quality of the online articles has nosedived and become mostly clickbait for ad revenue. That shouldn't be an issue with The Athletic but would Pearce still get any insight from his contacts at the club or would they just speak to his replacement at the Echo?
Can't see it working well for them personally but apparently they're backed by some big venture capital firm so obviously someone with more money than me thinks otherwise...

Could be dangerous from a long term employment perspective, as I certainly don’t really see fans in this country paying the subscription fees.
Anything news worthy appearing be in the mainstream media within minutes so why pay to hear it a few seconds before anyone else.

We all knew Sturridge wasn't there mentally. It's no surprise.

………………..
Crazy that Barcelona think that PSG want a couple of player that they don't deem good enough for themselves
Try offering Messi into the deal instead and they`ll bite your hand off
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Couple of excellent players plus £90m isn't to be sniffed at though. Neymar is nowhere near as marketable as he used to be.
PSG aren't as big a brand as Barca though.
£90m + Coutinho & Dembele is a hell of a deal.
Probably save money on wages paying Coutinho & Dembele as to just paying Neymar.

That’s a fackin great deal.
Barca are very desperate at the moment.
We should offer Moreno in a straight swap for Coutinho and Malcolm....
