Yeah he gets caught out quite a lot, hopefully that's ironed-out - probably easier for a defender to improve defensively than in attack if that makes any sense

It's really hard to play in our system at full back tbf, certainly positionally. He's decent on the ball and a fairly good passer but I think Hoever simply looks to have better technique. Maybe he's being pushed for HG quota.

You’d think so but we had Alberto Moreno at the club long enough. It should improve naturally with experience but he looks like he could do with some extra coaching on positioning/reading of the game and our system as said above not easy for fullbacks.

Even Robbo joked on a sky vid with trent he had more sprints than robbo cos hes always out of position 😂😂

Koumetio does look a talent for his age, what a unit. Likes to pass a lot too dont he though his long range passing could do with some work its promising, didnt get to see how fast/slow he is but he wins everything in the air its scary.

Now ofc his age worries me but tbh hes replacing lovren a player who even an 18 year old would do well to make as many brain farts n constantly be 5 yards deeper than ur defensive line.

Hopefully we see a lot of Jones n Keita this season in the mf 3.

Of course it has as it's true. 7 first team midfielders plus Grujic who may get a chance if he's not sold. He looked good to me in the friendly last week.

Neco gave too much space when we pressed the ball.

When we press with Salah and Mane they stay in the positional diagonal to cut off that passing option to the opponent fullbacks which means there is an emphasis on the fullbacks to join in the press with our front three.

Neco is young and will learn this with time.

Woodburn to Sparta Rotterdam on loan, again. Deadwood I’m afraid.

hes 21 in a month, he broke through with such promise he shot ahead of Wilson for us and Wales at 16! that said Wilson had a year out at 19 with a bad injury around that time? but still, quite promising, seems 5 years have just been wasted with him?
