There's an amazing stat that the only time Alisson has lost at Anfield is for Roma.

posted on 11/9/20

Mane hasn't lost at Anfield since he signed as well.

That was 2016 I think.

“Another window of no major incomings would be bad enough as it is”

Why?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because look what happened last season we won feck all after no signings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a tipping point where continuing with the same group of players, as in the main starters, for too long will become an issue. I don’t think we’ve reached that point yet, but it’s not too far away.....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah it's probably two or three seasons away if we made no signings in the next four windows or something. I don't see that happening however.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think two or three seasons is overly optimistic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think so. Apart from Milner I'd say all players now in their prime will be still in their prime or at least very close to it and players like TAA and Gomez will be in their prime with the Elliott being much better. Or if we sell a big player we'll replace with a big player.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not just about the players getting older, it's also about having the same approach with the same players year after year, teams will work out how to beat you and your system becomes less effective.

I'm not saying revolution of the squad is required but adding a new dimension in each window would enhance the longevity of our ability to contend.

Though saying that, I’m assuming that if there’s no opposition listed under the name then they haven’t a game for the whole of that game week?

Friday. 1.20, afternoon before the season starts. Beer on my mind. Might revisit some of last years favorite matches this evening to whet the whistle. Looking forward to this season immensely.

Our opening games under Klopp haven’t exactly been dull!

Liverpool’s four season-opening Premier League (PL) matches played under Jürgen Klopp have been mainly successful (W3, D1), with all featuring at least four total goals (5.5 on average), and Liverpool scoring at least three goals. Two of those four were home matches, where Liverpool led by at least two goals at half time on both occasions.
Unbeaten in the last 59 PL matches held at ‘fortress Anfield’ (W48, D11), the ‘Reds’ are currently on a 17-match winning streak in the PL against newly promoted sides. Thirteen (76.47%) of those were won with at least a two-goal margin, and 12 were victories ‘to nil’. In ten of those wins, meanwhile, Liverpool were completely dominant from the off, leading at half-time and scoring in both halves

Klopp: “It’s always been the case we have to spend what we earn. We need numbers for this season as it’s so unique with the schedule. The good thing is if we do bring someone in they have to be a really good player.”

So they have to be extremely good now and not someone who will peak in a few years.. #thiago2020
