Man it’s so crazy that our squad is not going to be good enough this season if we don’t sign 1 midfielder.

It’s not if Gini helps us win more trophies this season.

He’s a huge reason why we won the champions league let’s not forget.

Well thiagos a huge upgrade lets not kid ourselves also losing a player prob worth 30-40m for nothings isnt great either.

And if we sell him this summer we’re getting 15-20 mil off Barca at best.

So really it’s losing out on 15 mil or so.

No one said not being good enough. This is a midfielder who is an upgrade.

Do find it a bit odd, if Klopp was keen, that the Thiago transfer isn't happening.

A proper top drawer player who on paper at least would be our stand out best midfielder available for the same price as a Brentford striker and we've said no thank you.

Can't fathom that one.

That's my assumption. He seems pretty happy to "rest on his laurels" in terms of our first 11.

I trust him.

Could be we're confident of landing him in 3 months time on a free, especially if we're happy to let Gini go after his contract runs out.

But they're like second choices, like our midfielders are so really we only have three players for three positions.

That's what I was reading on here the other day. Can't remember who said it.

For what it’s worth i don’t think we’re done in the window. I think Thiago likely will be done. I’d rather us focus on an attacker and sell Wilson, origi and Shaqiri but there we go, I’m not sure Thiago will be as big of a game changer as some people think.

But whatever happens i think this current squad is plenty good enough for Klopp to get a tune out of and win the title again.

It won't be free though. He will want a huge signing on fee and wages which will go beyond Salah if they put some of the signing on fee with the basic wage. He will also be 30 which goes against FSG principles.

I think Klopp has been told that he can't have him due to factors above. Klopp being Klopp will not kick off and will rely on his own brilliance.

To be honest I'm sympathetic to the guys on here wanting signings - any team in the past that's won the League has (anecdotally, I guess) spent money to get in new players to maintain their position so if we're not, it would be a unique response but then we're in unique times too.

We've been remarkably consistent and improving the last 3 seasons so who knows what will happen this one, I'm hopeful either way

Thiago can transform our playing style. The way we play is predictable from the fullbacks. We need a different dimension to let the opposition guess how we gonna attack whether it is from the flanks or centrally.

Lets hope we can make some shrewd sales so we can make some upgrades. Surely theres a lot of interest in grujic shaq origi wilson or whoever. Clubs are theowing about 36m for 18 year olds who played 180mins in portugals league n 32m for championship strikers.

Yet we’re waiting to shift players before even contemplating signing a player of Thiagos pedigree for 27m 😂😂

I think £27m is pretty steep for a player who can sign a pre contract in 16 weeks time.
