Yeah jlou, your season could be Chelsea's
==================================
I read that article about this by that idio Ian Ladyman, with the title "worst premiership ever"
For me a classic m0r0n of a journalist who is more of glory hunter type of fan - supports United apparently, and doesn't understand the game itslf.
Why does he write for that trashy paper? well it's trashy
Anyway, I'd rather have a league where every club from 6th up (points tally), has an impact in the title race than watch some boring Scottish league where you know before the season even starts who's going to win it
Some people need to stick to prawn sandwich - well said Keane
Great article. I couldn't agree more. This has been a fantastic season so far.
I can never understand why people label it the worst season.
For me, Leicester, Watford and Palace have been like a breath of fresh air
They may not last the course at the very top, but by heck, have they given run for their money to the usual suspects money baggers
Seeing Chelsea actually SACK their "Special One" while Ranieri is prospering at unfancied Leicester is a more victory for Football
* more victory : moral victory
I am absolutely loving this season. One of the best for me.
Good article
'For too long money has dominated this league, but now it's proving that money isn't everything. Good recruitment, good work ethic, pace and positive attacking football, has shown to be effective, but is also new to the PL.'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
well said that man...., but you have the scenario now whereby the teams with new managers will be working with the old manager's players ie klopp at liverpool has inherited brendan rodgers team, so you can expect him to splash the cash again in summer....leicester deserve to be where they are because they have team spirit & play as a team
Yes, excellent so far. Seeing 'smaller' clubs playing attractive effective football is a tonic instead of deadbeats like Allardyce and Pulis using Stone Age players and tactics to claim credit as top flight managers. They are second rate and are being increasingly exposed as such.
Mr Chelsea is Mr Chelsea again.....best news of the day.
so really & truly all the top 4-5 from previous seasons barring maybe arsenal will probably spend heavily again.......just to maintain the status quo.....
It's both the best and the worst season, for different reasons.....
BEST SEASON - ENTERTAINMENT
Bcause it's wide open, there is no procession of two clubs for the title, and 5-7 clubs for the CL. You couldn't even rule out teams like Liverpool for the title of they put a really good run together, despite them being 9pts adrift, as nobody is stringing together consistent title form. Anyone down to 12th could put together a run for CL football.
WORST SEASON - TOP END QUALITY
Because the standard at the top is so low. Winning the PL sets the bar, and the bar looks like it will be very low this season. Both favourites have been thrashed twice already. Spurs and Leicester are in with a sniff.
Well said mate !!! Its been a brilliant season without the tedium of Chelsea, United, City etc buying their way to success. Its so refreshing not to hear the bores talking about who's club is Biggest....zzzzzz. As of right now its wide open & that's great. I can't see there being any season changing signings come Jan so lets just crack on & play. Great to see the genuinely good coaches (MoPo, Ranieri, Wenger (Sadly), Pards, Sánchez Flores) doing well while those who just spend & play cr@p football (Jose, LVG, Rogers, Pellegrini ) gone, going or struggling..... More of the same please !!!!
so really & truly all the top 4-5 from previous seasons barring maybe arsenal will probably spend heavily again.......just to maintain the status quo.....
==============================
Needs to be remembered, that the amount of money available to all teams is pretty much down to them top 5 or 6 clubs in the league.
No offence, but TV rights are not being sold at the astronomical prices they are, so fans around the world can have the opportunity to watch Leicester or Watford live in their living rooms.
So its maybe a little rich for any fan of a supposed smaller club to complain when the bigger clubs go out spend big, as those clubs are the main reason there is so much money swirling around the premier league.
If Chelsea, Liverpool , United, etc were to have joined a European Super league, England's top flight would be attracting similar TV money to Scotland's top flight.
Is the standard at the top low or are the other teams just more competitive? I'd argue it's the latter.
Look at City's team, nothing poor about that, I think the team that faced us cost £292.1m and they had two players over £50m in Sterling and De Bruyne, plus Silva, Toure and Aguero, not to mention £60m worth of centre halves. They're not poor, they're just coming up against better quality teams and like I alluded to before, they need to be on their game to win and that's not always possible.
There's nothing poor about Chelsea's team either apart from their performances, nothing to do with lack of quality. There is still a hell of a lot of quality at Arsenal, Chelsea and City, United not so much, they really are a lot poorer than thwy've ever been!

I agree with you totally.
Well if Leicester and Spurs finish in the top four it'll be us with all the money not Chelsea and United 😃
Yes, welcome back Mr Chelsea. Could never dig that Barney clown
It's not best nor worst for me. The big spending sides are nowhere near as good as they once were, and the rest of the teams are boosted by extra tv money, meaning they can both buy in and retain better players. The league is therefore more competitive, yet the quality of football from the "top sides" has diminished.
I think the reason people see it as the worst Premier League is because of our failings in Europe, where at times we look quite a way off competing with our continental rivals.
With some big CL games coming up hopefully we can change that perception and prove that we aren't too far away from having the best league and the best teams in Europe.
For me this is the best Premier League for a long time, I love how the 'lower teams' have really shaken everything up.
Haven't all but United won their CL groups?
Problem is, Leicester won't finish in the top 4, and neither will palace, nor Watford, and Spurs have finished in the top 4 quite regularly over the last 7 or 8 seasons, so that wouldn't really constitute a shock.
It has been a much more competitive season up to now, but come the end of the season, beyond Chelsea, it will be the same old faces making up that top 4 yet again.
And also Tottenham and Liverpool topping their Europa League tables?
Ivanovic said before our game that it would be more difficult than Porto because the style of football is faster than the CL. So the PL is more difficult than the CL?
You hit the nail on the head, Instead of improving/coaching players, some of the big teams... City, Chelsea & United especially have just spunked away cash..... City spending 60mln on 2 center halves who nobody else in the top 6 would want in their side. The less said about United's spending the better & look what's happened to Chelsea when they are not spending 50/60mln every summer. The point is that is not about "quality" that's purely subjective whether you look at games from a defensive/offensive position..... the bigger teams have become lazy (there are not as many quality players to go out and simply overpay for) while the smaller teams have caught up through better scouting, coaching & creating a better team culture.... Leicester, Watford, Palace & Spurs are all good examples..... No big expensive superstars
Certainly been an interesting season mainly due to Leicester (and Watford + Palace in some part too) .
But neither best nor worst as things currently stand.

You're assuming United and Liverpool are going to turn it around and find some level of consistency but they need to out do ours over the past 28 games, where we've won 61 points or champions form.
I don't see either of them improving massively and I expect us to be equally consistent so I don't think either will catch us. We won't roll over and we have a lot of winnable games. 10 of the 19 games left are against teams outside the top five!!
I fancy our chances at home against the likes of Bournemouth, Norwich, Newcastle, West Brom, West Ham, Swansea and Southampton and then Stoke, Liverpool and Everton slightly tougher but still well winnable and we're very strong at home and away to be fair. We also have to go away to Villa and Sunderland as well as Watford and Palace, all very winnable for a team so good away.
