Haven't all but United won their CL groups?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nobody was comfortable with relatively easy groups.

Arsenal humiliated by Zagreb.

City failing to beat Juventus.

When did we past have a finalist?

When was the last time an English club knocked one of the big boys out? When was the last time an English club was even in the top 3 favourites?

This failing is why people think the Premier League has declined. (Not saying i agree with it)

I'm not assuming United will turn anything around, they may do, but who knows.
Liverpool haven't really got much to turn around, just need a little more consistancy, but we'll get there, and will hopefully take up a top 4 place.
Leicester will fall away in the second half of the season, but have done themselves proud this season.
Top 4 for me will be City, probably champions, Arsenal just behind, maybe Spurs 3rd, with Liverpool, or maybe a rejuvenated United making up the 4.

Yeah I agree with that but I dont know why we're not as good in Europe when we have a lot of the best players in the world so why can't we play against teams in Europe?

Leicester, Watford, Palace & Spurs are all good examples..... No big expensive superstars

Spurs have spent the best part of £190,000,000 on transfers since 2013/14, little bit silly putting them in the same group as teams like Leicester, Palace, and Watford in spending terms.

Why do you think we'll fall away? If we can maintain this for 28 games, why not another 19? Especially taking into account our ten home games, win seven of those and you're not catching us, you're too inconsisent.

We suffer with less injuries than anyone else because we have better backroom staff and facilities to aide player recovery. It's not luck that we've barely had anyine injured for three years so our "smaller squad" won't matter so much. We also have the luxury of two players likely to score more than 20 goals, that canton be said about Spurs, Liverpool, United, Chelsea, City or Arsenal, just us. So if we're missing one we still have the other.

It's also important to remember how we finished last season. We finished extremely strongly and our fitness levels shone through as we ran rings around everyone. If we had the stamina to pull that off, then I'm confident we can do it again and so is Ranieri. We have scored more goals in the second half and last 10 mins than any other team, this also highlights how fit we are.

I think you're massively misjudging us and overestimating yourselves.

100Mln or whatever it was for Bale was a one-off...World record transfer are not an annual thing! Granted we wasted 90% of it & sold nearly all of those bought with that cash. To put Spurs in the same bracket of spending as City, United, Chelsea & Liverpool (ex Bale) is a bit unfair

I honestly think its because the league is so competitive. The top players here are spread throughout, whereas in other countries they're heavily based in 1 or 2 clubs.

All of our Champions League clubs are capable of beating Barca, Bayern and Madrid on paper. However we have a lot more fatigue & injury absences to factor in due to the competitiveness of the PL.

If an English club is to win the CL, they need a whole squad capable of winning it. Whereas you look at Barca and they have a superb starting XI, but a squad mainly nade up of youth and players that wouldn't get into City/Arsenals 1st XI. Fortunately there Starting XI always seems to be fresh and available.

You'll fall away because you are an ordinary team, who have done extraordinarily well.
It won't continue for a full season.

Leicester should be fine his season imo. Top 4 i expect, but top 6 at a minimum. It's next year that Leicester will struggle with European football as a distraction.

Bit harsh on Spurs to be honest but I do agree.

Nothing wrong with this season but lets not get bogged down with who spent what on who for how much or why leicesters players are so well paid when they have achieved nothing yet

If Leicester win it then it will be the best (this is from an Arsenal fan). English Football needs a great underdog league win, it's been way too long.

It'll still be good if Arsenal or even Spurs win it as it'll be well earned.

However, If City win it then it's just another boring season where the title goes to the highest bidder.

Ordinary ha ha this team is anything but ordinary, rhat's a ridiculous comment to make! Vardy has broken the PL scoring record, Mahrez has just about outperformed Hazard's achievements last season, one goal and two assists off the player of the year already. Kante has more tackles and interceptions and covered more ground than anyone else in the league. He managed 12.2m against Liverpool. We have the three best performing players in the league

On top of that we have the best team spirit. We have come from two goals down to beat Villa and draw away Stoke and Southampton, where United just lost 2-0 and Arsenal 4-0.

We've only lost three games since April and have won 61 points in that time and scored more goals than anyone else!!

We have the three fastest players in the league, statistically, in Vardy, Schlupp and Albrighton but we also have de Laet and Morgan in the top ten. So five of the top 10 fastest players in the league.

Yeah we're well ordinary

posted on 31/12/15

We also have Ranieri, one of the best managers in the league!!

Magic Ozil is still an Arsenal player!

It's demonstrated to a lot of people that it's not just about money

Money will only get you so far. With good coaching, a clear plan and tactical set up to get the best out of your squad you can compete

All the nonsense about financial doping and whatever other excuses people like AW have made have simply been blown out of the water by teams like Leicester

Its 11 v 11, by been smart you can compete

Put a structure in place, promote youth, give your club an identify, a way of playing but most importantly introduce your players to a football. Make them work with the ball constantly, sleep with it, educate on tactics, whatever it takes to get players tactically aware and able to play with both feet and not panic in tight situations

posted on 31/12/15

Be careful, you know that every Arsenal player is the best possible in their position yes. The Gooners firmly believe that every time a player has a decent 3 months they are the second coming!

Wait for the CL articles when they start saying how they wouldn't swap some of their players for Barca's because they wouldn't improve them

Has to be CL or bust for Leicester.
Too many PL teams in the past decade have had their following season wrecked by the Europa after playing so well to get there.

if the leicester board are smart and they seem like they are, then wherever they finish in the league, they should just concentrate first on just consolidating their place in the prem. become a genuine bonafide premier league club first and then start splashing the cash, rather than blowing money this summer, changing the team too much, having a load of players who are just there for the money and end up finishing close to the relegation zone.

I cannot believe how many talk about Europa League been a distraction

Teams spend all season competing in their domestic league to finish as high as possible then moan about playing in Europe and almost deliberately don't try to win the competition

What is the point?

What is the point of working to get into the CL for example when you have no chance of winning it...Arsenal for example. You don't even try to win it! If you did you surely wouldn't drop your CL winning keeper that you have just brought to ensure that yet again you finish second in the group and play a better team in the next round!

It's utter nonsense. Teams should be playing in football competitions to try to win them! All these clubs that talk about CL and blah blah they do not have a chance! Who do they think they are these clubs?

Part of creating a winning mentality and habit to take steps forward as club would be for example really trying to win the Europa league which now gives a CL spot to the winner anyway!

Would you rather actually win trophies or finish 4th? What is the point of earning money? All you actually do is build more costs into your club in higher profile players and bigger wages but you still don't go anywhere. There is no football benefit

Play football to win titles! Whatever they are....no one will remember that one day you finished 4th in the league at played in the CL qualifier or group stage

If you'd finished 4th a few years back and given it the billy big time nonsense people would of laughed at you!

As it stands the PL may lose a 4th place CL qualifier spot anyway due to the ridiculousness of teams like Arsenal entering but not really trying / not been good enough to do well!

Nobody said it is a distraction.
Merely the fact that several PL clubs who would hope to push on have done anything but when involved in it the following season.

Mate I completely agree. Our owners aim is to establish ourselves as a top five team but not over night. He said three seasons but he might well achieve it earlier and without spending £180m. That's what they vowed to spend when we got promoted to get us into the top five. We have £160m to go 😂

We have an excellent recruitment policy and we manage to sign the right players for very little. Even Kramaric and Inler who can't get a game, came on and worked really hard, they didn't sulk having not been in the team all season. We sign players with the right attitude and who will fit into our club ethic and our team spirit. As long as we have Walsh we will continue to find gems, he found Zola remember 😉
