I think we can win it and our home form suggests we do well, but equally Leicester's league position and away form shows why they should be confident too. But like I said if it were City or Chelsea coming 7 points clear and a win away from winning the league I think people would think very differently.

I said last night the Spurs result will probably change Leicester's mood going into our game. Either they'll be freed up and be able to enjoy themselves and play well or they'll know deep down a defeat isn't all that bad. But seeing as their positive attitude has got them this far I think they'll actually go into the game buzzing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
a large amount of Leicesters success has come from Vardy's ability to run all day and put pressure on the oppositions back 4 when the ball goes forward.

They hit teams on the break and have done so very well nearly all season and they know that every time that ball is cleared forward Vardy will be either on to it or sniffing around and not giving the CB's a minutes peace.

Vardy missing the game gives it a whole new dimension though as Ulloa wont give them that option.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

But they did play that way on Sunday. Schlupp was brilliant on the break and Mahrez did his part as well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
They did. However, I'd like to think that United will give them more of a game and pressurise them more than a Swansea team already seemingly thinking of their holidays.

But how does Vardy missing mean they will get spanked though?

It sounds like you don't actually watch Leicester much, Yes Vardy will be missed but if you've seen any of Leicester this season you will have noticed that they've actually had to radically change their system as teams gave Vardy far less space to attack. In response they shored up their defence and became even more solid as a unit. Okazaki will provide plenty of energy and they still have plenty of pace in the side without Vardy. Ulloa isn't as good but he also offers something different, strength to hold up the ball and bring players like Mahrez into the game who have the skill to unlock any defence.

we arent Swansea Robb.

say what you want about our season, but defensively we have been pretty solid.

Swansea were absolutely woeful against Leicester.

Again read what I said, i never mentioned over any period of time. I said 1 or 2 years ago.

..............

Isn't that a period of time?

This from a team who didn't score a goal at home in the first half for nine games in a row.

We have conceded 4 goals in 9 games and one of those was a penalty, you might squeak a win but i can see us getting tonked, even last season when we were rock bottom we never lost by more than 2 goals

How can you insult anybody for stating that they expect United to smash Villa?

..............

Quite easily.

All you had to do is look at our recent results. We had not won any of the previous 10 by more than a goal. Some of those we drew or lost.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If somebody has an opinion that United, 5th in the league, should smash Villa, worst team in PL history (so i've heard), it's not inconceiveable is it?

If it happened it would not exactly be surprising to you would it?

ive never once said i think Leicester will get spanked.

i did say i think we will win comfortably though and i do.

i think the front 3 will have too much pace and movement for Leicesters 2 cbs.

as Robb said, Leicester sit back and make it very hard to beat them, but the movement of the 3 youngsters up front in my opinion will be too much for them.

if Leicester do sit back deep, then their normal outlet of Vardy isnt there.

i think it will be 2-0 to utd, but a comfortable 2-0 win.

posted on 26/4/16

They don't really sit deep, they are just incredibly well organised and drilled with 2 banks of 4 which deals well with attacks. They are top of the league and have the best away record, when did we last beat on of the top sides at home comfortably? The highest ranked team in the league we beat comfortably this season at home were Stoke who are 10th.

posted on 26/4/16

Dink, if Leicester sit back, as they will it doesn't matter how pacey our front 3 is. If they get given no space to work in why would our pace trouble them?

As for us not being Swansea that's irrelevant. You said without Vardy they have no pacey outlet. With Schlupp they do.

....................

Evidence pointed to us not bashing Villa. So yes, it was pretty much inconceivable.

As it happened the evidence was spot on. We won one nil and it was a struggle to hold onto that in the end.

Not sure how you can even argue it.

Robb himself frequently states how we have struggled to score goals. I bet he has even mentioned it on this thread.

After the event we know we narrowly won.

But pre the event.

United, at OT vs a side who have been shocking

Even Sunderland would expect to spank Villa when they play them

You have heard incorrectly.

That would be Derby.

Exactly. It's hardly the biggest crazy prediction in the world to predict we'd beat Villa by 2 or 3.

I'd say Sunderland a few years back were the worst.

posted on 26/4/16

To be fair we have won more points against Villa than Leicester this season so that's why we'll win on Sunday.

Terrible and yet we still managed to draw 0-0 with them at home towards the end of the season.

Pre event you had to go back to the 2nd Feb to the last time we won a league game by more than one goal.

I think before this season Derby were the worst.

Villa statistically are worse than Derby, have to double check though

I'd argue we were comfortably better than Arsenal in our home game and the 3-2 was a little flattering to them.

As amazing as it seems that Derby side were much worse with only eleven points all through the season.

................

You were confidently boasting we would hammer Villa.

'As for us, well, we're pretty awful now and I expect us to lose to West Ham. Reckon we'll hammer Villa though'.

You are so full of crap, it beggars belief.

Yes we played well in parts and it seemed to really shock them but their goals which they took well made it a not very comfortable game IMO. The Liverpool score wise looked very comfortable but we were under the cosh for a while. Stoke on the other hand was as comfortable as you like, no real danger, complete control and a very good performance all round from us.
