I actually think we'll tonk Leicester

Can't be bothered reading all the posts, but we will not beat Leicester as I believe the Utd players will only give 90% into this game as not one of them will want to pick up an injury now with less than 4 weeks to the Cup final.

Januzaj

That is actually a very good point regarding players having one eye on the Cup. That would definitely be true if we had nothing to play for in the league but we clearly do. I think the players will still give their all, well as much as our players do in an LVG side.

Villa statistically are worse than Derby, have to double check though

...............

They were not.

Just double checked. Ok they are the 2nd worst team in PL history.

Not the worst prediction to think they United would smash them at OT when Villa, to all intents and purposes relegated.

I think the only time players might have an eye on the final will be at home to Bmouth, a side who are literally on holiday now.

By then we should have had top 4 decided either way

Unless we lose next 2 games top 4 will go to final day because City and Arsenal still need to play each other

Let’s face it other teams who win the Prem are just renting the trophy from its full time owners The Champ22ns. For once I don’t mind another team borrowing our trophy this season but I expect Leicester to give us a guard of honour at the start of the match as a mark of respect to the long term champions, the owners of the trophy they are looking to rent.

the fa cup will have no relevance to how the league goes.

i reckon the players would rather be playing in the CL next season than winning the FA cup.

Seeing as Villa have conceded an average of 2.9 goals in their past 10 games you'd think we could have scored a few against them. But then you actually look at our home record.

Surely last nights result shows that even if players have nothing to play for in the league they can still get results.

I am hoping the FA Cup Final will be an incentive to the players who don't play as often as a lot of us here would like (I am thinking Herrera and Schneiderlin) to put in top class performances.

MU82. I believe the players that have 'Been there, Done that, Bought the T-Shirt!' will still give 100% in the game, but for the ones where this will be their 1st chance to win a Trophy there will be doubt in the back of the mind. That is why I think we will only get a draw at most against an efficient Leicester side.

Herrera will probably over try to prove his worth, get booked, make a couple bad passes and LVG will drop him as usual.

players also love playing in the biggest competition in club football.

I am hoping the players will be up for the league and the cup. They should bloody well be.

After all the criticism they have had you'd think they'd want to try and salvage something from the season.

I couldn't say for the players but if it were me I think I'd rather win the cup than a place in the CL qualifying rounds. I doubt 6 games against a random eastern European side, an ok central European side and a good Spanish or German side is that great TBH.

posted on 26/4/16

But like Diafol says I'd hope the players will be up for all our games.

................

Something Robb has slated us for all season long in his campaign against LVG. What with all the 0-0 half times and struggling to win by more than a single goal.

The Villa game was one of the easiest for me to predict all season long.

That sounds like a group we'd get out of easily.....

I wonder what great memories our players will take from this season's CL outing? That thrilling 1-0 at home to CSKA?

I think the 0-0 against Newcastle and PSV were the hardest to take.

That was a personal highlight. Up there with passing the ball around our own area at home to PSV in the final 10 mins when we knew a draw would have us need to win in Germany to qualify

Villa were conceding an average of 3 goals a game, probably well over 3 for away games.

So a prediction that we would beat them by at least 3 is not crazy.
