Yep, Angela Merkel isn't really important in the grand scheme of things.

The Geneva refugee convention requires the international community to take in war refugees on humanitarian grounds. All signatory states are obligated to do.

Mrs Merkel putting the boot into the Donald today.

Good stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Like she will count for much in the next couple of years.

Have you been across to Germany recently and listened to the local populace?

They are as much fed up of the EU, lack of border controls, free cross country rights of passage, funding of EU as are we.

Just watch that space and that in France while you're at it. This is a continually moving landscape and don't let the rhetoric from media on all things EU lull you into thinking all in their garden is rosy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been to Germany recently and I didn't get that impression whatsoever in fact it was the opposite.

Ive read you saying things like you hope the EU combusts etc but I don't get why. You voted for Brexit and you got what you wanted, its a little late to start feeling uncomfortable about it..

If you are so sure that Brexit will be such a success why wish for an end to the EU? You nutty nutty man!

History has a way of dealing with these things Ivan.

In fact I do believe that your team were a top league outfit when those publications were last in vogue.

How time flies eh?

Yes that's exactly the message I got.

I'm far from being uncomfortable about Brexit and I'll only get what I wanted when we are finally out. 😂😂

And just as the EU have behaved abominably towards us, I likewise wish them to self combust. I know it's childish but at least I'm not an MP. 👍

"abominably" how? As far as I was aware they are only doing what they said they'd do?

When are you tendering your notice anyways?

What?

They promised us to punish us?

They promised to act like a bunch of kids in a playground and try and humiliate our PM?

Not sure when exit negotiations had those clauses inserted.

I want no part of a self serving, arrogant, wasteful beige and corrupt organisation like the EU membership.

Two years notice to leave which they have to agree with ffs.

Cut through all the waffle and ask what is it all about?

It should be about decreasing the barriers to trade with each other and implementing acceptable minimum standards. It's become a self serving monolith headed into some utopian dream state run by eventually a select few.

When will they start to eventually take over armed forces, start an EU tax above individual state members own taxation laws, take over a participant funded health service paid for by everyone with insurance US style, get rid of individual governments and the like.

Think it won't happen if it carries on?

Glad to be out of that.

You expect them to treat you like a bird when you are exiting?

Of course they'll 'punish' the UK every chance they get. It's in their best interests to do so and will discourage others from leaving the EU. This was guaranteed to happen and being wound up about it just smacks of an excuse to make your wild statements seem valid.

Can't read this whole repetitive thread.
Would just like to point out to someone who posted about begging to get back in.
I think that would be less humiliating than sucking the orange boaby Please give us a trade deal; we have a special relationship." WTF?
With little Donny there are no win-win deals. He must win or at least appear to win. But hey he was elected democratically.
Oh and as for the anti trump folk being "Jeremy Kyle viewers" Would that not describe the brexiteers who thought their win was a licence to abuse immigrants?
Just asking I.E.

I don't think it's me that secretly fancies ct , but if you were to suggest other way about you could be onto something

Truth is I never interact with ct but he's always there, following me about trying to get my attention

Suppose i should be flattered, if a little creeped out
