Really. It's apparent that you have a grossly inflated idea of your own self-importance.

But enough about Trump

Does anyone know what these petition signers expect to achieve?

Please take note of the word "expect"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Curly: The clue is in the title of thread ya fecckin daftie

+++++

I am afraid it is most certainly not Tully

The reason for the petition is in the title but the expectation is not

If I started a petition to allow me to pump Jennifer Anniston should I expect to be able to do this if enough people sign?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ginger, I don't think petitions allowing you to pump JA are covered by parliamentary legislation and would lead automatically to a debate in the House once 100,000 have signed. You and Curly are a pair of maddies ffs.

And btw the petition is now at 1.23 MILLION!

Anyway, I'm off to see this beautiful town on a bright, sunny, warm day. Cerveza anyone??

The mistake was to arrange a state visit so soon after Donald Trump was elected. The Government should have waited 6-12 months before contemplating such an invitation.

Cannae be bothered reading the previous posts and it seems a bit "arguey" for me but would like tae add that Trump is one of the most obnoxious human beings I have ever listened to or read about, and imo, he is not nearly smart enough to do his current job

Do not get me started on the 4 inches of candyfloss he passes of as hair

Good God.

Yes I'm incapable of rational debate.

So now the floor is yours to give us these facts you're clearly in possession of.

Over to you. 👍

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Glad you admit it.

-- . Such is the arrogance you actually took that seriously ffs. Dearie me.

Here's something for you to stick your teeth into:

-- gee thanks

- Our government backed TTIP, which would have seen US companies given access to our NHS services and the UK lowering food standards. The EU have repeatedly rejected the terms of TTIP. Do you have any confidence in the current government not to negotiate a similar deal to this?

-- I won't pretend to know, but yet I do have a degree of confidence in our government and parliament as a whole.

- We have two years to agree trade deals. TTIP has taken three years and conditions are still unfavourable. TTP took a decade to agree and collapsed when Trump took over. Do you think two years is enough time to negotiate a good trade deal when the terms will probably start unfavourably.

-- we can undoubtedly do a lot in the two years but no it'll take longer. In two years time however we could be dealing with an entirely different landscape (who projected this one?) and it's not as though there will be no deal. It's that we will suffer tariffs which can be offset against EU costs. There will probably be some downside but from there we can negotiate further. I have a great deal of trust in this. Countries do want to deal with us and the noises from Europe are far more conciliatory. We do comply with all their legislation after all.

- The US trade representatives wrote a paper on how the US should only have trade surplus' with trading partners. They currently have a trade deficit which means any trade deal will probably result in us exporting less to the US or allowing them to take over more of our services.

-- Probably? Probably not. There is a significant determination in the US to have a strong relationship with the UK. We will see how that transpires but I'm certainly not going to be all doom and gloom and tuning into the next in a lot mg lone of scaremongerers.

- Our current Prime Minister has a record for privatising the police force and blaming immigrants from her time as home secretary. She was noticeably slow to condemn some of Trump's acts and also held hands with him in a press conference. Are you confident that she might not try to adopt some of the policies or support them as part of any trade deal?

-- Again probably. She may do or she may not but she is as electable as the last and the next PM. Again the people will vote for what they want.

There are a few questions and concerns based around some facts on our 'special relationship', a trade deal we may get and how the NHS will be affected by this and Brexit . As you are so confident everything is good for us; feel free to answer them to allay my concerns. Or you could just shout a bit more.

-- Yes I am confident. I'd have thought that was patently obvious so why your incessant need to re question everything I've said. I'm extremely confident if that helps.

As for shouting a bit more

FWCK OFF

how's that for shouting?

Fook knows what the boot does behind closed doors. I believe she's fond of wearing leather, a balaclava would suit her..

Like she will count for much in the next couple of years.

Have you been across to Germany recently and listened to the local populace?

They are as much fed up of the EU, lack of border controls, free cross country rights of passage, funding of EU as are we.

Just watch that space and that in France while you're at it. This is a continually moving landscape and don't let the rhetoric from media on all things EU lull you into thinking all in their garden is rosy.

Under US domestic law they can choose which elements of the convention to apply.
