I just answered a question about whether less people would mean funding would be at the right level.

At no point did I say the government would lower funding after Brexit. This is because I have repeatedly stated that I don't think the population will decrease after Brexit.

You have got confused with everything that is going on and decided to tell me what my point means.

In fact, some of it probably is true and some of it probably isn't.

Is the basic problem with democracy though..,you have to accept to will of the people even if lots of them are absolute loon balls.
Just one example...I had a London cabbie explain to me that the reason he voted Brexit was because there was too many blacks and Asians in his neighbourhood. No doubt there are millions who think like that and are incapable of anything further.

Well, to try and get back on topic. The petition now at 1.5 million and rising by approximately 1,000 per MINUTE.

So, apart from the fact that this undeserving and loathsome slug is the u.s. President - anybody came up with another reason why he should get a state visit? Mmm?

It is an educated guess. The current government have repeatedly increased NHS funding at a rate lower than our GDP increase. It therefore follows that they will probably decrease funding should our GDP fall, which it would if there was a population decrease.

So the real burning issue here is this..

I have to rely on RRP to make it worth my while. The next three years worth is up for negotiation just now, managers have put the application in and waiting on a reply.

Tully..I get your point but he doesn't have to do anything other than be the US president. He's the Head of state. That's the only criteria required.

You clearly said they would lower it the less people using it. Right after it was talked about brexit lowering population . I understand you don't think population will go down but that's what I was discussing and you responded to my post

The argument then would be that should we be inviting anyone who is a head of state, no matter what they do or what their regime is like?

If I wanted to be extreme should we then be inviting over the lad in charge of North Korea, since he's head of state after all?

Difference is though Ivan.. N. Korea aren't our closest or most powerful ally

Ivan...I'm only stating the facts. A state visit is an invitation from one state to another. The Heads of State play a key role.

Are you really comparing the US and their democratically elected president with North Korea and their dictator?
