Caixinhas situation isn't helped by the euphoria following the Ashley deal etc. Most thought the worst was behind us , that we'd beat a team from Luxumbourg and get a couple games under our belt before a harder test in Limassol. That was blown completely last night and we find we are handcuffed to a dud with no friendlies arranged . Facken depressing !

6 year wait for it to end like that
I honestly thought our Lincoln Red Imps result would be theeee most embarrassing result in Scottish football history for years but last night made that seem like a decent result for an away tie

So the only arguement for not sacking him is that he has players that he has not used yet and were in pre-season.
The only reason that we SHOULD (and the board) be asking is, Is Pedro good enough? to which we all think NO. The most important thing to Rangers are its fans and they must be kept onside for us to progress
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not quite.
It would be a massive signal to everyone remotely concerned with Rangers FC that their board are clueless, directionless and knee jerk reactionary.
Why would anyone join something like that, far less believe in what it was doing?
Every single decision and sound bite would be questioned and ridiculed from the off.
It would be way more damaging than just a simple replace the manager stint after all that has gone on previously these past 6 months.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree totally
And grudgingly

See if the board did sack him, do you think the fans would actually be happy with the board or then ask further questions as to who appointed him etc.?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well the fans already think he aint the person for the job and he should go (regardless of the logistics) and was my point the fans already think it was a mistake by the board therefore me myself I would be happy that the board have taken the immediate action to get rid. The more the board seem to back him the more they will lose the fans as we can see we have no faith in Pedro. The board must keep the fans onside in order to be succesful
The first time they spoke was after he already got the job, I find that a bit weird.
Heard they had a good korma that night though, Mr Singh providing a few haggis bhajis on the side for good measure.

Definitely they should, it would show the board as being gross incompetents and that is why they cannot sack him at this stage; it would be an admission of guilt and they wont do that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So essentially rather than a wee riddy the board will allow this clueless bastirt to waste another season.
Sound logic there
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The wee riddy would quickly transform to a series of massive riddies

Those who appointed Caixinha were ill equipped to judge him . A second hand car salesman fffs !!
I'd just like to say fair play to the Rangers fans who have come in, would have been very easy to go into hiding today but majority of the posters have come on and tried to debate it quite calmly....
Apart from Zach and BN obviously

aye they have taken it well, though i think this has been a good article all round tbh, lot of healthy debate
Smid....that is bollox ! The Board might have thought they had the right person and did back him , but they cannot possibly have the same faith in him following these two games.

What was that about "healthy debate" again?
put it this way the more the board back Pedro the less faith I will have in them. If I can see that he doesnt have what it takes to take us forward then I will then question what the hell the board see in him. Everyone can make mistakes but to be stubborn and not learn from them is when you start to lose me. It would be different if Pedro was only in the door 3/4 weeks and only had a very short term to see assess the team, what needs to be done and understand the ambitions of the fans. However its near 6 months since he was appointed and that is more than long enough for me to get an fair picture of his ability to manage Rangers

Ah.
And what have we been saying all this time?
Question the board. Really question them instead of just giving it yeeha every time a soundbite is uttered.
Zach's the worst.

I think the board have a tough call to make.
If they decide Pedro can stay, and he makes a monumental khunt of it as is expected, it will just make things worse, regardless of who they get to replace him.
It would have to be a rather spectacular appointment in order to placate the fans who will leave in their droves. Merch sales will plummet, as will season ticket sales, as it shows that the board cannot make a decent managerial appointment.
