I take it Coutinho was plan B for Barca, in case Man U beat them to Lukaku.

Delusions of grandeur
--------
and you're just plain deluded stretty if you think it's actually worth your effort to talk down Coutinho in order for JA606 members to think it's a good move for Liverpool to sell him to Barca.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Couldn't care less whether you do or don't. Not sure it would matter either way. Wouldn't have an effect on the outcome.
I would say given his talent level £72 million would be an amazing deal but in this day and age you probably wouldn't get much for that cash so you may as well
Keep him unless he becomes desperate for a move aka Suarez.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When Lukaku is going for £75m, Coutinho is going nowhere for an eight figure sum.

Will be interesting to see him more centrally, espwvially if you play Mane on the left and you now have an (Scotland's second choice) actual left back. Could free him up a bit and give him passing options.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm quite excited! I think Milner will start most games but given Robertsons style he's an interesting option.
A front four of Mane, Salah, Firmino and Coutinho should be hard to mark.

Coutinho does not have that effect on games.

Different players but it's hard to say one is better than the other. Coutinho can do things Rom can't and vice versa.
Coutinho is a more naturally gifted footballer no doubt but it doesn't necessarily mean he's better. Only one was on the PFA team of the season.
In fact you could argue Rom has been more consistent and effective in his time in England.

Plus five years is over-exaggerating it.
Yeah a lot of pace, skill and movement with those four. Though if Neymar does actually go to PSG I think Coutinho will be off. No way are they selling him and not spending big on a replacement - even if he's not on his level. They won't go into the season with Deulofeu as their first choice on the left.

Well Coutinho isn't going to score as many as an out-and-out striker is he? He creates a lot though and usually performs in big games too.

From strettys report;
"That is unlikely to deter Barcelona, who have identified Coutinho as the replacement for Andres Iniesta, who is 33 and in the last year of what is beginning to look like his final contract at the Nou Camp.
Coutinho was highlighted as a target for Barcelona in the middle of last season, with his international team-mate Neymar expressing his hope a deal could be engineered."
