Attending COBRA meetings might have helped him come to the decision sooner

Not shaking hands with everyone in the COVID ward and bragging about it on TV would have been wise too
----------------------------------------------------------------------
😂 and closing the airports sooner
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That was a tough one, brits returning from china and Italy etc.

I remember that pre lockdown Liverpool game Vs Madrid.

I also remember TBAB calling me a hypocrite because I was calling for lockdown on here, but ran the match thread

So at that point TBAB, you were anti lockdown still...

Humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. Without giving political recognition to Taliban. Should they just let them starve?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope the aid and cash get to the people, mate.

It often does not.

If you lie about labour then I can call you a lying toad, by all means defend your lies but don't then say "I called for lockdown" like anyone gives a fack what you were calling for in February last year (if you need a reminder back then you'd go on long long rants at BB7)

If you then go on two paragraphs throwing puerile insults at me you don't get to switch back and say "let's keep it in topic" you utter hypocrite

Righto you want dates because you're too ignorant and lazy to remember or find it yourself

Calling to push the button is different to actually pushing it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed.

I was on here arguing for action and NPE disagreed about so called Lockdown, even then.

At 57 with asthma, once i witnessed Italian hospital footage i remember thinking why is Cheltenham on, Rangers and Liverpool allowing fans in, Dublin let Italian fans come for rugby, even though game was off etc...

Cummings apparently wanted a london lockdown early March, and Rory Stewart stood out as one who wanted lockdown before boris, tory and labour spokespersons.

Which is why i quoted Labours Dodds, who sided with boris govt thinking on lockdown, as late as 8.3.21.

I think boris and the govt messed up regarding covid response, as did most govts, and Labour would not have done much better, imo.

Lockdown has also messed up millions of lives too, young and old, so arguing about dates of closing things down is actually quite academic to an extent, but it might have saved more lives.

We were told washing hands would too, remember, and not to wear masks, so we were all guessing, includung scientists.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
8th of March 2021?

The report and what we are talking about is the delays in the first lockdown in 2020.

Can you please provide evidence for her support for the Government position in March 2020
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, 8.3.20 radio recording, opposing Rory Stewart on same programme re. lockdown call then....agreeing with boris govt stance.

When did Starmer Labour officially call for full lockdown, before govt?

If you remember, Not defending bojo here at all.

I did point out the hypocrisy of Liverpool etc going ahead with the game and you doing a thread on it... when people were dying.

Once i saw Italian hospital pics i wanted action taken...not football and racing and rugby fans travelling.

Honestly.

What date did labour say lockdown?

As stated, Dodds of labour on 8.3.20 opposed Rory Stewart early lockdown, and agreed with boris govt line then...

I think you and I concurred with the Rory Stewart call for urgent covid response then.

I certainly did not oppose lockdown.

Actually debated with NPE for it back then.
