Labour need to bin Starmer and Reeves or they'll soon become as toxic as the Tories.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing Labour do will make them that toxic
Billionaire hedge fund manager and Democratic Party donor Bill Ackman has said he was “depressed” when he woke up to discover that Mamdani had won the Dems primary in the NY mayoral race, but that he was now more optimistic because his team were “looking into legal issues”.
He also said that he and his associates were ready to pour “hundreds of millions of dollars” into the campaign of any “aspiring politician” still looking to enter the race.
1. The billionaire class is scared.
2. They will do literally anything they can to stop Mamdani winning.
3. How do people still not see that both the Dem and the Rep institutions exist primarily to serve and protect capital?
Even the Mail is attacking Mamdani, most recently labelling him a “privileged nepo-baby” (his dad was a professor, his mum a filmmaker - and I can’t remember seeing them use that kind of language about Boris or Trump).
They're absolutely shiiiting themselves that social democracy might actually get something of a foothold in one just corner of the US.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
is that worse than Starmer's idea of telling every child what illnesses they will have when they are older?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You think actively monitoring the health of every person with risk of data breaches, in a country where private health insurance is required and regularly fails to pay out is on par with screening babies to assess risks of genetic disorders and diseases?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's what I've raised as a discussion.
But yes, my first feeling on it is that I see more moral/philosophical issues with screening babies for genetic disorders than I do with monitoring peoples health.

Just trying to understand your point of view. I find it baffling that someone would be against screening and preventive healthcare. Finding out whether someone is likely to develop an illness allows the health service to set up specific healthcare to prevent or treat it early. I have no idea why someone would be against that.
For example: my daughter was screened for sickle cell, downs syndrome, Edwards syndrome etc when in the womb. She was the screen for multiple illnesses after birth.
You think that is unethical based on your current stance, but that doesn't even occur to me. I would consider it unethical not to do it, as I would want to give them the best chance to get the correct treatment if it was needed.

They also seem to have peaked at 30% and have dropped a bit in polling recently as their other policies besides immigration have actually come under a bit of scrutiny. Their non-dom tax they announced this week for example has been rightly hammered, and wouldn't surprise me if they drop again slightly after it.

That said if I was him I wouldn't let Rayner get too comfortable.
Apparently Reeve and him are trying to water down the rob the poor bill to get the 120+ rebels back onside.
What a pathetic miserable couple they are desperately trying to save what's left of their reputations.

NEW: Witnesses say Reform MP Andre Jenkyns greeted the Labour Shadow Farming Minister at the NFU with the words: "Hello, arsehole"
[@spectator]
And they want to be taken as a serious party ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would Labour have a Shadow Farming Minister when they are in government?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s the Spectator, they probably thought the minister was black which is why they called them shadow.

What a load of rubbish... reform are useless. They wont get many seats at all
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was once certain that the UK aren't stupid enough to vote for Brexit!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem Reform have is there will 100% be voters in these polls saying they'll vote Greens or LD's who actually end up voting Labour where it's tactically viable, because when it comes down to it will they really want to risk a Reform government?
They also seem to have peaked at 30% and have dropped a bit in polling recently as their other policies besides immigration have actually come under a bit of scrutiny. Their non-dom tax they announced this week for example has been rightly hammered, and wouldn't surprise me if they drop again slightly after it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope you are right!!
Its just amazing, that people who are looking for reform... End up voting for the people who started the downfall of this country in Brexit!

I can't understand the point you are making if you don't use words.

I think crayons would be more appropriate for you.
