I can't think of another who had a better WC, but I'm open to suggestions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was that good he must have been a nailed on starter for the whole tournament?

Averaged 60 mins over the 5 games.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He didn't start the first two games, an obvious error by the manager. However, he quickly proved his worth, and started the last 3.

He didn't start the first 2 games I think, and Uruguay were very very poor in those games.

When he started whether it be the balance added or whatever, they started to look a lot better.

Fair play though Lovren had a mostly good tournament

They weren’t though were they, that’s why you lot paid more than you had to so you could pay in instalments.

and a champions league club would have been after him
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes tbf Champions League clubs are much more interested in established talent. Like Jack Grealish.

Firmino...15 goals 7 assists

Not sure where u got aubo scored nore prem goals from.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But Auba only played 14 matches? Ridiculous comparison

---------Alisson
Lichtsteiner VVD Koscielny Robertson
-----Keita - Torreira
-----------Ozil
Salah Aubemeyang Mane

Firmino’s contribution tactically and as a team player is more valuable to us i’d say. Especially in big games.

Horses for courses. If the debate is who plays with Salah & Mané it’s Firmino all day long....anybody who knows football will tell you that.

You could have him over Ozil too, he’s been far better. Ozils performances have been poor for a while.

Once they have actually played some games, Torreira will be in for Keita. Sokratis will be in the back 4. Dembele will be wide. And Allison will be laughed at.

Alisson
TAA, VVD, Lovren, Robertson
Fabinho, Keita
Ozil
Salah, Firmino, Mane

If we get Fekir then Ozil will be pushed out.

posted on 31/7/18

Yeah Fekir is a really good player

at the moment the liverpool XI. Auba is good but not sure where he gets in that front 3
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Auba has been a 20+ goal a season striker for about half a decade now. Firmino never has - as good as he is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmino scored 27 and got 17 assists last season.
Aubamayang scored 31 and got 7 assists with most coming in Germany, against poorer opposition.

Against poorer opposition is such hearsay.

There is such a bizarre level of arrogance towards the PL for PL fans who clearly don't take an interest in other leagues.

posted on 31/7/18

Also I was talking about league goals

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or somebody does take an interest but recognises the PL as a higher level with tougher opposition and another is arrogant by suggesting the person recognising thus doesn't take an interest and blindly suggests the opposition is tougher in the PL.

Why? Firmino scored 11 in the CL. Is it more difficult to score in the PL than against teams over Europe who PL fans are arrogant against?

posted on 31/7/18

Also as evidenced by Firmino's assists, he's much more than just goals.

posted on 31/7/18

I'm looking forward to seeing your explanation as to why Swansea, Stoke and West Brom are such superior teams to Koln, Hamburger and Koln.

Firstly, trying and act less petulant.

Secondly, because cup competition goals require way more context than league goals. This shouldn't have to be explained to an adult

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firmino got 7 league assists, Auba got 7 league assists.
Auba played 8 less games.

posted on 31/7/18

Both players only scored 3 goals against top 6 opposition last year as well fyi.

posted on 31/7/18

I miscounted actually, Aubemeyang had 4

posted on 31/7/18

Auba is a player who needs space for his running in the channels. His link up play is not that good.

Firmino is a better allround player. Good linkup play and doesnt need space to make his goals.

posted on 31/7/18

Auba's link up play is underrated. He may not be as natural a foil for Mane/Salah as Firmino is but that doesn't suggest he isn't a better player.

posted on 31/7/18

Firmino is viral to our play....in another team maybe Aubameyang but Firmino does so much for our team/attackers and isn’t too bad a player himself. I recommend watching a tactical analysis of our front 3. Firmino is key...
