They’ll all be crying about the police being too heavy handed later

It's numerous things. You get large groups of morons who have been drinking egging each other on. It's the same with stag parties etc that go abroad.

Also, football is a more working class sport than most (historically definitely; questionable in today's day and age) and so it attracts the uneducated idiots more than other sports.

muppets to begin with?

"it's groups of youngish, drunk blokes"

Not always. That guy that pushed the old man into the fountain wasn't exactly young and then he even went up and goaded him afterwards.

I get it's not just English fans, but these are the fans we as a country are responsible for.

I blame the class structure.

What like your lot in Rome did and all the other places heavy handed police are ffs

Stop plying the innocent card. Always the victims it’s never your fault

It’s not just abroad it happens anywhere a large group of people drink. Go out I Manchester any weekend and there is always trouble. I know first hand as I ran bars and restaurants there for years

It's a combination of alcohol and sunshine taking its toll on little pink pot bellied piggies

In case the OP missed it its not only football fans who act stupid.

75% of holiday goes act like this. Theres even a movie called inbetweeners about this

the behaviour around holiday resorts is just as bad nightly.

But to do it to a complete stranger is very stupid indeed.

It is odd how a fan pushing someone in a fountain, shiite thing to do, has garnered more attention than two sets of fans fighting before last nights CL game.

English football fans as a rule are generally pretty stupid individuals. Put them amongst a larger group and they are all trying to out do each other in the bravery stakes.

It's is, and it's bad enough young lads fighting after a few beers but when you see blokes in their 40's/50's who should know better then the mind just boggles

What does this say about English fans? You do not see Scotland fans or fans of Scottish teams causing trouble at major tournaments or in the knock outs of the CL. I think this just shows how much more well behaved Scottish fans are. Why is it that it's English fans causing trouble in these situations and not Scottish ones? Do you think it is the school system, local policy or possibly higher levels of immigration in England? Could climate play a part?

Could even be that Scottish fans spend very little time in Europe 👍

Football just happens to give the means for these people to travel to these places. There’s no better excuse to get away with the lads, and unfortunately many can’t handle this rarely found freedom. It’s not just Liverpool, or even English fans. It’s virtually every country in Europe.

Sad that not one person checked to see if the old confused man was OK. Instead laughing and making racist remarks

Who here can honestly say that they can look themselves in the eye and say that they've never pushed a Chinese man into a fountain, without using a mirror? Can anyone say they can do that??

I guess the sets of fans knew they were going for a fight.

Chucking innocent bystanders in a fountain is just a cruel thing to do. Hopefully they run into somebody their own size.

It's not like that bloke is a young lad non the wiser.
