I can guarantee that more than 50% of the 17.4 million had zero knowledge on what the EU have given them in their lifetime.
And its not their fault, the UK government never publicised it, here in Ireland we see signage everywhere on roads, buildings etc. that were built with EU funding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In fairness, 'EU funding' is disingenuous to say the least.
There's no EU funds except for those that the tax payers of member states have paid into.

Yes, but it's money from our taxes.
The fact it went via the EU is relevant, but calling them EU funds is disingenuous imo.

Sorry, just saw this
But my point is fair though EU money has done loads for all its member states but the man on the ground in the UK isn't informed like other nations are.
I just think it's sad that people were not aware of what they directly got from being in the EU and that is remain campaign's fault.
A no deal shouldn't be an option. Nobody voted for WTO tarries, a £40bn bill, roaming charges, expensive travel etc.
If people voted to leave knowing this was possible, they don't have the brain capacity to deserve a vote.
The reality the country didn't know what it was voting for, campaigns centred around racism, lies surrounding investment and trade deals.
The stay campaign was no better either.

You're looking for blame in the wrong place.
Blame lies with how the referendum was put together and the fact that 'leave' was not defined.
If Brexiteers can't agree what Brexit looks like, how do you expect MPs to?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that just puts this whole "how we leave debate" which no one has been able to answer, to the front of the whole process.
And how do you set out options to leave when you havent opened any negotiations with the EU.
IMO It is right that a yes or no question was asked first but the campaigns is where it failed on both sides, both engaging in negative, deceitful campaigns that failed to educated people on the true pros and cons.
"Reminds me of the Chancellor stating that up to 820,000 jobs would be lost on a Leave vote alone. Since then employment has risen and unemployment has fallen."
Both of those statements can be true though, there's a lot more zero hours contracts now than there was three years ago.

Yes, it's a fair point although the key part of that, imo, is not the money but how the decision is taken about how it is spent.
Does anyone think the Conservative Party would have invested those funds into the same sort of projects that the EU have? Not a chance.
I cannot believe that Labour didn't play on this point more at any point in the last 3 years.
