It was the amount of good BSides that amazed me about them.
Most cd singles had the song plus a bloody frankie knuckles remix, a radio edit and a dance version or something
When I heard master plan for the first time as a b side
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oasis B-sides were amazing. Lesser-known songs like Going Nowhere and My Sister Lover, as well as the more famous ones like The Masterplan and Talk Tonight, plus covers like Heroes and Come on Feel the Noize.

As expected their post-2000 stuff doesn't seem to be so popular.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I gave up with them after the coke addled Be Here Now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's still a good album, it's just that it followed on from 2 seminal albums. If they had brought it now it would be seen as a modern classic I think.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are some good songs on Be Here Now but it's a bit "rock by numbers". You love it all on a first/second listen but then realise it's not got much more to offer.
Funnily enough, D'You Know What I Mean?, the opener and lead single, is probably the exception, as it's a bit of a slow-burner. I also liked the title track and It's Getting Better (Man!!).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I did like those 2 songs. D'you Know What I Mean sort of got people's expectations up.
I liked all the ones that were released from it even if they were on the excessive side. Did any song on that album actually last less than 6 minutes?
Always found them very bland, too basic and Liam's voice grates. Noel did have some decent melody in him though but I'd struggle to put together a list of 5 of their songs I'd consider "good".
The Masterplan is certainly their best song, Whatever is better when Noel sings it and Little By Little and Half The World Away are acceptable. Pretty much everything Liam does is awful

I was impressed by Rockin' Chair, the B side to Roll With It when I bought that single, thinking it's good enough to be a single of its own. I like it more than RWI now.

Noel loves his dance music, I’m sure they were all down The Hacienda with everyone else!
Not including the obvious songs coz there’s too many to choose from so here’s my 5 (although that can change anytime)
The Shock Of The Lightning
Songbird
(It’s Good) To Be Free
I Hope, I Think, I Know

I’m sure he says he was down there more than he was. Didn’t they boot the Chemical Brothers off stage for not playing enough indie when they DJ’d before an oasis gig in the 90s?

Completely disagree. Although I love Blur also.
Oasis win the 90's, Blur/Gorillaz win the post 90's. How's that?
Radiohead were of course the best band to come out of the 90's!

Agree Blur were better, but bothe excellent.
Can't stand Song 2 or Parklife though. Both stupid songs
Favourite Blur songs for me are :
1. Beetlebum
2. Tender
3. The Universal
4. End of a century
5. Girls & Boys

Nah, not for me.
They are just Coldplay while pretending to be working class. Least Coldplay know they are middle class whankers.
