You have to be suspicious of an OP on these boards that starts "I’m not looking to stir up a barney but........."

Teachers and classroom staff have as much if not more protection than care homes staff ffs

———————————-

That’s completely wrong.

Care home staff are practised in looking after the health of those they are charged with looking after. They are used to PPE and cleaning regimes.

Care home residents are exactly that - resident.

The churn of huge schools people traffic and the thousands of potential random interactions per day are not even close to care home interactions.

Also, teachers are there to teach not to provide health care.

As ever the kwnts that are closely related to teachers or have maybe taught before are whining that they should be prioritised.

Works both ways that.

Imagine demanding a profession is prioritised over any of the 9 groups already identified? Or the police?

Fwcking joke.

I’ve had my say and I’m glad every U.K. government agrees with me.

Even the ginger witch is sending Scots kids back weeks before England. Laughable that.

And on that note.

I bid you a pleasant evening

You know....You could all just be happy and celebrate the fact that the UK is getting more people vaccinated more quickly than just about every other country.

Or whinge and moan about who gets it first

Aye when they’re at work
Most have sat on their holes at home all year when they do go back they are never more than two weeks away from a holiday
Doddle of a job and no bars on the windows so if it’s too tuff leave
Not saying there are not good teachers just saying get in line
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Respectfully that again is completely wrong.

My kids have been supported as best they can be with on line schooling.

Google classroom, lessons by video presentation, zoom meetings twice every day, feedback from teachers when work has not been done and phone calls from a guidance teacher - in a school with over 1600 pupils.

This is an unprecedented situation- Teachers are learning how to deal with it just as we all are.

As TMQ says - the class sizes are huge. Remote schooling 33 pupils is an unenviable task.

You really haven't a fvkin clue about this.

If a teacher gets covid, the classroom isn't deep cleaned.

Supply teacher comes in next day & carries on.

Surface cleaning only is done & has to done by class teacher.

As a class leaves the next class arrives & they mill about.

Missus work whole floor is deep cleaned instantly.

All workers sent home for 10.

They never tire of telling us I hear them every day on my way to and home from real work
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A little harsh if you haven't witnessed it. Having said that I do believe that you can make a genuine case for any worker. In my career/profession in hotels, I valued the work of the kitchen porters and room attendants way above many others that I employed.
