You know....You could all just be happy and celebrate the fact that the UK is getting more people vaccinated more quickly than just about every other country.

Or whinge and moan about who gets it first

I believe someone predicted this would happen?

The COVID infection rates went through the roof when the schools went back.

There’s a reason why the schools are closed the now.

I’ve no issue with teachers getting some priority for the vaccine.

No brainier.

<Wonder why?>

Cos like postmen, GP's, Procurement, Managers, some are whankers.

Some individuals don't do well at school & blame teachers.

Most failed parents blame schools for their own shortcomings.

Some families who go private & it doesn't work out ditto.

Some are predators.

But teachers are like tabloid news.

Put 'teacher' in a news list that's the one most will go to 1st.

It's about who is most likely to DIE and that's the old. Get them jabbed.

Teachers and classroom staff have as much if not more protection than care homes staff ffs

———————————-

That’s completely wrong.

Care home staff are practised in looking after the health of those they are charged with looking after. They are used to PPE and cleaning regimes.

Care home residents are exactly that - resident.

The churn of huge schools people traffic and the thousands of potential random interactions per day are not even close to care home interactions.

Also, teachers are there to teach not to provide health care.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye when they’re at work
Most have sat on their holes at home all year when they do go back they are never more than two weeks away from a holiday
Doddle of a job and no bars on the windows so if it’s too tuff leave
Not saying there are not good teachers just saying get in line
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Respectfully that again is completely wrong.

My kids have been supported as best they can be with on line schooling.

Google classroom, lessons by video presentation, zoom meetings twice every day, feedback from teachers when work has not been done and phone calls from a guidance teacher - in a school with over 1600 pupils.

This is an unprecedented situation- Teachers are learning how to deal with it just as we all are.

As TMQ says - the class sizes are huge. Remote schooling 33 pupils is an unenviable task.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What’s that got to do with queue jumping folk over 60 for a jag
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmm - it was a response to the ‘doddle of a job’ comment.

Are the asking to queue jump those in the 60 year old bracket?

The infections were on the rise July PRIOR to schools going back, sorry it's a lie that schools were the source.

Btw-I wasn’t suggesting that teachers and the other front line people I said earlier should be ahead of anyone in the first 9 cohorts-I’m suggesting they’re next in line after those most are risk are vaccinated. I think that would make them after anyone over 50 and anyone with underlying health conditions.
