Missed those 2 frames, Frame 5 is massive for Stephen
4-1 now. Fear this could end 6-1.
Hendry loses 6-1 played awful after losing that 2nd frame but Xu played well. Hendry needs to practise hard in preparation for next season else these hammerings to "lesser players" will be happening far too often.
Stream went about an hour ago, he looked a million dollars for the first 2 frames, can't understand the capitulation....
Paul Collier to referee the world final
don't know what hendry hopes to achieve tbh
he's gonna lose more or less every match he plays on tour
kind of reminds me of bjorn borg's ill fated return to tennis in the late 80s after about 7 years of retirement
he lost every single match he played as i remember
When Hendry retired he was playing awful, so I'm not sure what he expects from having a few years off and then coming back. Of course its his right to do so, and I know there are some players who probably just 'need' to play (like Jimmy), but I don't think Hendry falls into that category. Maybe he needs to scratch that itch one last time to get it out of his system.....
The most memorable match for me between Hendry and White wasn't their world finals but the 1988 2nd round which White won 13-12. Just pure attacking snooker, and I'm sure there were over 20 half centuries / century breaks. That was the year I thought White would actually win the WC, but he lost to Terry Griffiths in the semi!
Hendry will give it 1 more year, he won't do a Jimmy & live off his name for 20 years, he's a winning animal & won't put up with it for long....
Day 10 : 2010 round 2, John Higgins v Steve Davis, Davis won 13-11, great win for the old guard, he got badly beaten up by Robertson on the way to his so far only world championship, Robbo was 11-5 down to Martin Gould, if he'd not won that miraculously the QF would have been Davis v Gould, could Steve really have reached the semi's at 53....
Yep I think Hendry will give it 1 more year then just call it quits and focus on the seniors. I still think he should have played in most of the events this season, then maybe he may have been a little bit match sharper for the qualifiers, I'm not suggesting he would have got through the qualifiers but he would have had a better chance though and maybe in some of the earlier events he would have won some matches.
Here is a biased great crucible match for me: 1994 world final. Hendry 17-16 White, Jimmy with a chance in the decider but missed the black, Hendry then made a steely clearence.
I love Ray Edmonds commentary in the end when Hendry pots the final pink he says "Stephen Hendry has proved once again that he's the best player in the world" sadly those moments wouldn't last
Ray Edmonds was a great commentator, & I was gutted Jimmy blew that chance, & it proved to be his last chance too...
Bring back Ray Edmonds think he stopped commentating around 2003 or 2004.
Edmonds said, to the Manor born, when Ronnie won the UK in 1993... Great words... We didn't know it then, but that final was 1 of many great matches between the best 2 of all time.
I think Ray Edmonds commentated on the maximum Ronnie made against Fu in 2003.
I think you are right, Dennis & JV did the 5 min 8 sec one in 97
He's not the best, lol, I think Hendry is a great commentator & has the respect of us, the public
Noppon Saengkham tested positive for covid, he was due to play in the 3rd qualifying round but now sadly can't.
The winner of Lyu Haotian and Gao Yang, they are playing now.
Just had a look and realised that Stuart Bingham has to qualify. Madness.
Hope Luca Brecel smashes Bingham.
