Just realised Brecel and Bingham play other players in the 3rd qualifying round but will meet in the final qualifying round assuming they both get through.

I thought that was a tough 3rd rounder... Definitely deserves a 19 framer, that game is good enough for the Crucible

Yep, Brecel and Bingham should be a first round Crucible match. No idea how Brecel has been playing lately though.

Day 11: Jimmy White v Neal Foulds 1991 round 2..Jimmy won 13-12, from 11-8 down, great battling performance, I remember being delighted he'd got through, sadly reached the final & lost to an inspired Parrott that year.

Yea, coz Davis dominated the 1980s, & of course Steve James beat Hendry in 91.

Steve James was on an accident & emergency programme about a year ago, he's a biker & he'd come off his bike, he made a mess of himself, but was ok, I recognised him, then I heard the doctor call him Stephen, Never mentioned his snooker career, & back in his day he was a top 8 player for about 5 years.

Dammmmn shame he had an accident, hope he's okay now.

I thought there only used to be three rounds of qualifying? Although it could always have been four, but thought the main tournament commentators always said the qualifiers were more match sharp as they've played three 19 frame matches to get to the main draw.

It was 3, & all used to be best of 19, only the last round is 19 now, But I'm sure Arsenal can give you more info

Yeah it is weird they keep changing the amount of qualifiers, I remember in 2016 Ding had to play 3 qualifiers, but now players ranked around 17-64 play 2 qualifiers and the very lower ranked players play 3 or 4 qualifiers.

Tony knowles beating Davis was before my time, but I remember James beating Hendry was a big shock.

With regards to the Crucible Curse, I was also really shocked in 1999 as Higgins looked untouchable at the time and it seemed inevitable that he would win it, but Mark Williams had other ideas. Actually was surprised to see Hendry win the final so comfortably against Williams in the same year.

We all Just love the world championship & we get 2 in 9 months.... I hope Ronnie can join Hendry on 7...👍

Knowles beating Davis was before my time too, James beating Hendry in 1991 made all those semi finalists that year that they had a big chance, Jimmy Beat James, Parrott beat Davis...
