Leeds United’s last 16 games when Daniel James has scored…
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
In Leeds United’s entire history, only Alan Smith (21 between 1998 - 2001) and Mick Jones (18 in 1968 - 1969) have won more games in a row when they’ve scored than Daniel James currently. 17 wins in a row when he’s on the scoresheet
Only in 2009 (32 wins) have Leeds United ever won more league games in a single year than they have in 2024 so far (27 wins)
Time for some new ones…..
Daniel James has won the last 17 games he's scored in at Elland Road, the longest run by a Leeds player since Eddie Gray won 25 in a row between 1966 and 1978
Junior Firpo is the first Leeds United player to assist three goals in a game since Jermaine Pennant in August 2003 against Middlesbrough
Today, Leeds United had six different scorers in a game for the third time ever:
1967 vs Chelsea
2001 vs Bradford City
2025 vs Cardiff City
Daniel Farke is only the third Leeds United manager to win a match by 7+ goals, along with Duck (with an i)!Ray (three times) and Don Revie (six times).
Leeds had an xG of 5.73 against Cardiff City yesterday, the most by a team in a Championship match that Opta has on record
Leeds United won their games against Cardiff City by an aggregate score of 9-0 this season (2-0 away, 7-0 home). It's the first time in the club's history they've scored nine league goals without conceding against a team in a season.
Shots faced by Leeds in Championship games at Elland Road this season:
5, 9, 7, 7, 5, 9, 0, 5, 7, 3, 6, 6, 4, 6, 3, 2
5.2 per game, the lowest on home soil by a team in a Championship season Opta has on record
Btw guys,
Cos no comments other than me, not sure if anyone is even looking at this article thread anymore..... ?
Continue? or wasting my time ?
Across all games we have only conceded 6.1 Shots/Game.
The next lowest are Boro with 9.52 & Burnley with 9.57.
We have conceded 104 shots less than Burnley in the league this season.
It's a huge outlier in the history of the Championship
Our Post Shot xG is now 54.3 and the highest in the league.
By contrast Burnley's is the lowest in the entire league with 26.2.
Less than half our total.
We are now 1/4 to win the league.
1/20 to finish top 2.
1/33 to be promoted.
Cheers Faith .... I'm not alone here 😆
I just love this stat stuff 😎
Stats don’t tell the whole truth and can sometimes lie, but there’s so many stats that set us worlds apart from anyone else in the league. Which just backs up a lot of what I’ve seen. We’ve had a matter of minutes so far this season where we have been under the cosh. The three sides below us have had no where near the level of control in most games I have watched of theirs.
Unfortunately the one stat that they base promotion on is points won and for a few reasons the gap there isn’t as big as it should be. I’m expecting that to resolve itself over time as it usually does, but football is a funny game.
Still back us to be 10 points clear of third at the end of the season without the need to sign anyone though.
Totally agree Faith.
But stats still tell us that we're witnessing stuff that hasn't been seen before !!
Like me remembering I was a 14 year old in hospital having to persuade the matron to let me have match of the day on low volume to watch 7-0 Sunderland!!
Wonder what the kids who saw that yesterday will remember when they look back in 50 years !!!
Leeds currently have the best goal difference we have ever had after 30 league games of a single season in our history (+41)
Leeds have never conceded fewer than 19 goals after 30 league matches in a season (level with 19 in 1973/74)
LANDMARK: Leeds have recorded 18 clean sheets in our first 30 league matches of a season for the first time in our history.
Gonna dust this thread off one last time..
Record breaking season.
Add every record or bizarre stat you can find .
I'll start with a few ....
2019-20: draw with Luton in our 40th game, win six in a row, hammer Stoke at Elland Road, beat a relegated team on final day.
2024-25: draw with Luton in our 40th game, win six in a row, hammer Stoke at Elland Road, beat a relegated team on final day.
---
Leeds United scored 18 goals in the Championship in 2024-25 from the 86th minute onwards, the most of any side in a Championship season in history.
---
This is the 4th season that both Leeds United have won the 2nd tier & Liverpool have won the top-flight, after 1963-64, 1989-90, & 2019-20.
It's now the all-time English record for most times a specific club has won the 2nd tier at the same time another also won the top-flight.
----
Today's Leeds United starting XI is the first that does not feature a single player who made a Leeds appearance under Marcelo Bielsa since 21 February 2015 against Middlesbrough
... and there's millions more, jump in
No-one?
Ok
I'll post them myself....for posterity 😊

....
Dirty Leeds? We are only the third Championship champions to go through an entire season without receiving a single red card, along with Reading in 2005-06 and Burnley in 2015-16
....
The last two seasons in which the winner of the second tier of English football has been decided on goal difference. #lufc
